These are hompages for musical groups that began in the 80's. Groups like Aerosmith who were around before the 80's are not included even though they had a couple of albums during the 1980's. I will only list one homepage for each artist. Preferably one that has links to other related pages.

- Asia Whatever made people think this band is K00l is beyond me.
- Blues Brothers One of the few movies to spawn a band of the same title.
- Culture Club/Boy George Before he was playing the "Crying Game" he was corrupting the minds of Mtv viewers everywhere talking about Karhma.
- Bryan Adams "It Cuts Like A Knife" to have few hits since the "Summer of 69".
- The Church Gesh, I need a witty remark for these guys, I can't remember them hardly at all.
- Concrete Blonde "Love is Like A Bullet" when you're "Walking in L.A." just ask the LAPD.
- Def Leppard One of the hardest groups of the early eighties, which is real scarey to think about.
- Devo "Whip It" and wish you hit it big despite scores of albums.
- Dire Straits "Money for Nothing", talk about hypocrites.
- Thomas Dolby After "She Blinded Him With Science" noting he could do would get him on the charts again it seems.
- DURAN DURAN!!! The most copied and imitated band of the early eighties.
- Echo and The Bunnymen Their best stuff was probably on the "Lost Boys" soundtrack.
- Elvis Costello Yesh, check out those shades, the fifties are calling.
- Erasure "Chains of Love" couldn't keep them down.
- Fabulous Thunderbirds One album wonders disappear, small surprise.
- Foreigner Pop radio staples of the eighties with "Waiting for A Girl Like You."
- Gary Numan Here in his car, he'll be safest of all...
- Gloria Estefan Before a bus accident, she was one of the better dancers on Mtv at the time.
- GTR Take a bunch of members from larger bands, make an album, and never be heard from again.
- Guns 'n' Roses "Welcome to the Jungle," it's hard to keep from going lame.
- The Hooters "And We Danced" while "Waiting on a Heartbeat" one "Nervous Night."
- Human League "Don't You Want Me?" since I'm only "Human" sappy snyth love ballads of the eighties.
- Information Society "I Wanna Know, What You're Thinking" had to be the first pop song to feature Spock in it.
- INXS Coupla popular albums, a lot of unpopluar ones after "KICK."
- Jane's Addiction They were one of the more unique sounds of the mid eighties 'till they broke up.
- John Mellencamp "Jack and Dianne" had "Rain on the Scarecrow" at their little "Pink Houses".
- Julian Lennon John Lennon's first son had two really great albums in the early eighties.
- Kraftwerk Songs about calculators, ya gotta love what helped inspire techno.
- Laurie Anderson Experimentalist music was pretty big in the eighties.
- Level 42 "Lessons in Love" and lots of synth driven music.
- Madonna Like, oh my god, if she wasn't like the be all, end all of what was popular in 1984!
- M|A|R|R|S "Pump up the Volume" then break up the band.
- Men Without Hats It's "Safety Dance" especially now that the world didn't go pop.
- Midnight Oil How can we sleep when our beds are burning?
- Mike and The Mechanics The almost successful Genesis spinoff which really didn't go anywhere.
- Modern English I'd stop the world, and "Melt with You", if maybe you weren't listening to this song at the time.
- Nik Kershaw "Wouldn't it Be Good" if all singers like this were one hit wonders?
- Olivia-Newton John She got very "Physical" in the early 80's and faded into obscurity despite a large 70's following.
- OMD Sappy sentimental love songs that mean absolutley nothing but sound cool anyways.
- Oingo Boingo "Wierd Science" would definately be invlolved at a "Dead Man's Party"
- Pet Shop Boys They certainly had lots of "Opportunities" and knew when to take them.
- Peter Gabriel Former lead singer for Genesis, Peter Gabriel introduced the radio stations of the eighties to the world music scene.
- The Police Before his solo career, Sting was in a really neat band which made half decent music.
- Pretenders One of the best rock bands from the eighties, period.
- Prince Who can forget when we could all refer to him by his name and not some stupid symbol.
- Ramones Punk, Punk, Punk, Punk, and yes, more PUNK! The answer to new wave in the 80's was definately the Ramones.
- R.E.M. Before Micheal Stipe lost his hair, before Mtv made them huge, they WERE college radio.
- Roxy Music Glam rockers extrodinaire!
- The Scorpions The excesses of early eighties metal, there's a lesson to be learned here I know it.
- Sheena Easton Sex kitten, meow!
- Simple Minds Best known for "Don't You Forget About Me" which they didn't write.
- The Smiths The most depresing group of the eighties by far.
- Spinal TapWhere the amps all go to Eleven.
- Squeeze Best known for their ability to craft simple tunes.
- Stray Cats Rock from the fifties makes a comeback.
- Suzanne Vega My name is... Lucas... I live on the second floor...
- Talk Talk One hit wonders... ah remember them?
- Talking Heads Who can forget those big oversized suits and funky dances they inspired?
- Tears For Fears Two guys making great make out music.
- Thompson Twins They weren't twins, none of them were named Thompson
- Tom Petty Before he was "Free Falling", he was a "Refugee"
- Toto Talk about a one album wonder, received a grammy for best new artist and disappeared.
- U2 Before Zoo TV and huge success, U2 was actually a cool band in the early eighties.
- Van Hallen Before Sammy Hagar, there was a cool hard rock group in 1984 which made us all want to... JUMP!
- Violent Femmes I wanna go out... like a "Blister in the Sun"
- "Wierd Al" Yankovic The man made famous by Dr. Demento and sued by Michael Jackson over a dance technique invented by Fred Astaire, just "EAT IT!"
- XTC One of the best unrecognized bands of the eighties, best known for "Mayor of Simpleton" and "Majors and Generals"
