Music Poster Books

This is meant to be a humorous list of little things you can do to remind yourself of how much better the eighties were. I'm welcome to suggestions.

• I cut and roll up my jeans, wear my shirts over the shoulder. I want to have big hair (doing it after this). I have two neon rubber bracelets. I watch John Hughes movies. I love Ferris Buellers Day Off, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. I only listen to 80's music. I love Duran Duran (John's so cute!) Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Human League, the Bangles, Bananarama, Berlin and lots more. The 80's is the best ever. Plus I was born in 1991 ( which was a mistake)
• I made acid wash jeans, I own about 6 pairs of leg warmers (I like them better than slouch socks), I wear vintage tees with sayings like "I love th 80s", I pull my bangs to the side and scrunch my hair. Molly Ringwold is my idol. I have crushes on Emilo Esteves, Corey Feldman, and Anthony Michael Hall. I own almost all of the infamos brat back movies (I'm only missing Pretty In Pink.) My 80s movie collection is ever expanding. I listen to all 80s music -and i was born in 91!
• I wear spandex with a mini skirt over it and have my hair on a side pony all ratted out and instead of a scrunchie I wear bows. GOTA LOVE 'EM! And I watch "The Goonies" and "Valley Girl" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", tee hee! And I wear at least 2 pairs of sox to match what I am wearing. BIIIIG GLASSES AND HOOPED EARRINGS!! HECK YES! I dont have BIG bangs..but i do have bangs..I LOVE THE 80'S!!!!!!!
• "Re-learn" the steps to Thriller for old time's sake. Don't forget to don a red jacket and couple of zombie-like friends:)
• Watch a Brat Pack movie--Breakfast club or 16 candles on VHS or St. Elmo's Fire or Pretty in Pink on DVD. Look up my favorite Saturday morning cartoons on the internet, watch video clips of said cartoons, download 80s songs from Napster and burn them on CDs--my own "Best of" collection. Watch 80s episodes of Saturday Night Live and laugh as Dana Carvey sings Choppin' Broccolli, Phil Hartman plays Ronald Reagan, and Dennis Miller sings Cat Stevens. I also can't believe Dennis Miller ever had that hair cut! Watch Masters of the Universe DVD set with my boyfriend and shout "I am He-Man! By the power of Greyskull, I HAVE THE POWER!" Look up any kind of 80s nostalgia I can find: now non-existant closing logos from TV shows, videos, and movies we watched "way back when," listen the jingles for said closing logos, like Hi-Tops, Embassy Home Entertainment, HBO, United Artists, PBS, Family Home Entertainment, etc., and still get freaked out over tha United Artists one. Buy books on the 80s--particularly teen movies. Find the "American Tale" commercial at the end of my "Land Before Time" video, and gawk at how expensive the video was ($29.95?!). Watch the Pizza Hut commercials on my "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Land Before Time" videos, and make fun of them. Fave movie is "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." That, my friends, reminds me of the 80s.
• While working on my rubics cube in my freshly cut mullet, mesh shoes, white pants and white sports jacket with a skinny fake leather tie, drinking a slush- I surfed on the TV between Believe or Not, Night Rider, Smurfs, and The Power Hour, all the while listening to my gettoblaster with a mixed tape of Ratt, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Phil Collins, The Cure, Talking Heads, Judas Priest, and dreaming of the girl next store with crimped hair all valley girled out.
• I listen to Motley Crue all the time as they are my faveourite band and kick ass!I listen to other cool 80's rock bands Cinderella,Poison,Guns n Roses to name a few. I wear heavy eye make up and leather clothes. I have studded heels which rock!I read the dirt and that just takes you back dude!I call people dude alot!I have a no nonsense attitude at school and don't give a fuck! The 80's rock! Rock on dudes!
• Always make sure I have "Exclamation" perfume to spray on my "Coca Cola" sweatshirt!

• I listen to prety much all of my mom's favirite artists from the 80's. I watch alot of the movies from the 80's too like: Ferris Buellur's Day Off, The Breakfeast Club, Better Off Dead ect... I am completely in love with Billy Idol!!! Rock on!! I love his songs so much! My favorite is "Dancing With Myself". I turn up my radio as loud as it goes and go crazy dancing to all of his kick a** songs!! Plus he's dead sexy!! I just can't get over him, not that I would ever want to or anything. On the next 80's day, I am gonna have a blast!! I'm gonna be a punk just like my "idol". I wish i could meet him. I'm jealous! I really want to see what it would have ben like to live in the crazy 80's. It would have been so cool to see all what was in style then. Long live the b@tchin' 80's!! And forever Billy Idol the best poet that ever lived!!! Love you, Billy!
• I enjoy oraganizing 80's movie watching parties (80's dress required) and currupting my young co-workers.
• Get green and black stockings with some cut shorts, with a cut up shirt and a smaller one under and wear a side ponytaile with lots of eyeliner.
• Listen to my Billy Idol, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Nirvana and/or AC/DC collection as loud as I can, constantly while watching Bill And Ted's Execellent Adventure, Labyrinth and/or Back To The Future.
• Listen to *tapes* of the new years eve top 100 countdown from 1983. Wish I had a few other years.
• I put tons of gel in my hair flip it over in a side ponytail held by a large scrunchie. Then I hop into my LeCar, and go about my day.
• Wear my white Cons hi-tops with the tongue sticking out over the bottoms of my jeans, just like my hero, Robert Smith.
• I listen to 80's watch 80's videos, and still can't go out without a ton of thick makeup with dark eyeliner and blue eyeshadow on.
• I have all the dvd sets of Peewee's Playhouse, that I watch so much and I also went on ebay to buy a Peewee's Playhouse doll set with all the people. Although its used, I love seeing it in my collection!!!!!! I LOVE THE 80S!!!!!
• I unhook one of my white shorts overall buckles, wear a white shorty shirt with GO-GO in pink neon on the front and YO-YO in grean neon in back with matching jelly bracelets and scrunch socks layered, crimp my hair and put it in a half pony tail to the side with one of those plastic cone things (what were those called?)to make it really stand tall...yes, oh yes...most excellent!!!!
• I sing songs from the eighties at Karaoke Nights.

• Listen to Skid Row and think of ways to kidnap Sebastian Bach and make him mine!!!!
• Dance on the hood of the car blasting Whitesnake's "Here I go Again."
• Shop vintage clothing websites and consignment shops for those awesome 80s duds everyone ditched! I also sport big hooped plastic earrings, brightly colored...tease my hair and add plenty of Aquanet and jam out to some awesome 80s tunes, especially some New Wave!
• I still mourn over Randy Rhoads' death, listening to Iron Maiden or Triumph while I walk to school in shirts like my Randy Rhoads one, Iron Maiden, Streetheart, AC/DC or The Who.
• Every Friday night listen to "Workin for the Weekend" by Loverboy to kick off your weekend.
• I call everyone dude, I only watch 80's movies and nothing newer, I have pics of all my favorite 80's dudes like John from Duran Duran and Billy Idol, and I only buy music from the 80's! I love the 80's!
• We get together once a year and have a big "Party 80's Style" party! We actually have one tomorrow! We all dress up, listen to 80's music, drink (beer, wine-cooler, wine out of the box) and play 80's trivia.
• Me and my wife on a regular basis make our kids and as many friends as possible sit in between us on the couch and the put on the Breakfast Club and then proceed to recite the movie line for line and annoy the crap out of everyone around us. Its so much fun it hurts.
• I wear my VINTAGE Michael Jackson 1984 VICTORY Tour vintage baseball t-shirt to remind the world of his humanity and buy EVERY Judd Nelson, Patrick Dempsey and Ally Sheedy movie I find--- even if I haven't seen it~
• Very simple rent 2 movies Fast Times At Ridemont High and Valley Girl.
• I listen to my mixed 80's cds everyday!
• I watch The Goonies probably once a week!
• I taped episodes of Facts of Life from Nick-at-Nite and taped the entire Facts marathon on TV Land and watch them everyday. My entire vocabulary consists of nothing but quotes from movies like "The Breakfast Club" and tv shows like Growing Pains. At least 85% of the music I listen to is 80s music. I spend countless hours on line listening to 80s theme songs and 80s commercials. I have taken a lot of 80s quizzes and read lists of you know you grew up in the 80s when... On Halloween, I wore a tie-dyed shirt, ripped jeans, dangly earrings, and teased my bangs. I really want to get a record player and I'm desparately looking for an original Cabbage Patch Kid. I don't believe in dvd players(unless it is a dvd-vcr combo). I'm trying to solve the mystery of the meaning of " gunter, glieben, glauchen, globen " (Rock of Ages). I could go on and on but you can see I need professional help as it is!!
• Memorized all the words (in German) to 99 Luftbaloons and sing it everyday.
• I do everything eveyone else dose pretty much, but my room is the totally 80's room with 80's albulms on my wall my Strawberry Shortcake stuff in view along with my Rainbow Brite dolls,Cabedge Patch Kids,and Care Bears. I sleep on my starberry shortcake pillow case and my New Kids On The Block one, I have a Blondie mirror and my Prince poster hanging up. I wear Jelly bacelets eveyday,and wear my ROOS, converse and my jelly shoes all the time. All my shirts are 80's related. I keep the 80's alive everyday!!!
• People in the eighties had really ugly hair so when I want to be reminded of that area I just do my hair really horribly. (LOL!)
• Act out music videos like JUMP by VAN HALEN, WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE by GUNS N' ROSES and DANCING WITH MYSELF by BILLY IDOL.
• Copy BILLY IDOL's style: hair, clothes and listen to his music constantly.
• Listen to my BILLY IDOL, VAN HALEN, ALICE COOPER, NIRVANA and/or AC/DC collection as loud as I can constantly while watching BILL AND TED'S EXECELLENT ADVENTURE, LABYRINTH and/or BACK TO THE FUTURE.
• I wear my I LOVE THE 80's sweat shirt and i bacstroke my hair with a pick and make it as big as i can...well you know what the style was..(and will be)
• Put on lots and lots of black clothes and eyeliner, whether you're a guy or not and spin around concussing people with your large crosses to the Cure and Depeche Mode (the greatest band EVER!!!) reliving the angsty teenage life we all had :)
• I still play Zelda the original Nintendo game religiously even at 33 years old. While waking up listening to Def Leppard I fart and chant the smurf La-La.
• Do the "Waterfall hairdo." For those of you who don't remember this small fashion trend, it's where you dye your hair blue using Kool-Aid and the put it up in a ponytail on top of your head. Then you crimp the ponytail, and let it fall loosely around your head. It looks like a waterfall, and it looks really cool!
• Watch every Friday: The Lost Boys, Stand By Me, and The Goonies and License To Drive and invite friends over and dres up like the 80's!!!!!
• I wear 2 - 3 Swatch Watches at a time -- anyone remember them?? It's still fun to do and I'd like to meet others who still wear a bunch.
• Remember those t-shirt ties and wearing 2 different colored socks to match your outfit.
• At least once a week wear my Goonies, Transformers, Michael Jackson, Thundercats or He-Man shirt =) GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!
• I read rock music magazines like Rip and Circus and remember when bands were actually talented and knew how to play guitar solos.
• Listen to anything by Men At Work, or play "Einstein A Go-Go" really loud!
• Make a point of dressing up as Milli Vanilli as much as possible!!! "Girl, you know it's true!"
• I pull out my Powell Peralta deck and listen to some TSOL pretend I live in the punk rock squat in "Suburbia".
• I fantasize of one day finding an exact replica of the dress Madonna wore for her performance of "Like A Virgin" on Mtv and hope to one day do the same thing and get married in the same dress she wore.
• I sit and reminisce about my 8th grade dance when I had my hair feathered back with tons of Aqua Net and wore my favorite western - style skirt. I think that every girl at the dance wore one. I remember dancing to Cameo's "Word up" and doing the running man dance. Of course all of the boys wore their cheesy thin black plastic ties.
• I listen to the absolute, hands downm best band of the 1980s all the time... THE CURE!! 80s movies are cheap now, so i buy as many as i can and watch as many as possible. Come on... Adventures in Babysitting... can a movie get any cheesier, or any better?? I think not..
• All i can say is that 80s music runs wild in my life. Listening to the "cheap pop" of Madonna (though it was classic and is really good), "great pop" of Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, as well as the New Wave of A Flock of Seagulls, Squeeze, and many others...then kicking back and jammin' to the "Hair Bands" Bon Jovi ("Wanted Dead or Alive" baby, yeah), Poison, Def Leppard (yes they are classified as a hair band), Tesla, Winger, Warrant, and many others. all this while memorizing the lyrics to the best 80s Rock Song of all, "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring!!! oh, i constantly watch VH1 Classic and log each and every video they play, umm, constantly reading lists like this that bring me back to my childhood, and i can't forget this: ALF!!!!!!!!!!!! My hero, idol, he's definitely da best. i'm missing only 2 or 3 episodes on tape, got all of them logged too!!! Stop the 10-10-220 and bring him back to primetime!!!! I got lots more including the whole 80s movies binge that everyone has, The Breakfast Club, Say Anything, Top Gun (used to play Maverick and Goose in the car, there's a mig on our tail!!!!!) Bueller, Bueller, Bueller!!!! #1 Back To The Future fan, ohhhhh yeahhhhh!!!!! Love that DeLorean, I'll do anything for that car!!!! Oh, the memories, i can go on and on all day of things i do now that brings me back to the "Glory Days" of the ABSOLUTE BEST GENERATION AND DECADE!!!! THE ME GENERATION ROCKS, THE 80S ARE LIKE TOTALLY GNARLY!!! Ok, i'll stop, don't want to take up LIKE too much time DUDE!!!!
• I watch Pretty In Pink (I actually bought the video) and recite the lines verbatim. I still use my electric blue eyeliner, I just don't make the top and bottom lines go almost to my ears! I buy every 80's cd I can find. I am trying to decorate my son's room in 'retro' 80's decor-- dang, I can remember seeing the commercials for the 70's Preservation Society and now I see my favorite song's on commercials like that! If that doesn't make ya feel old! I remember paying $40 for a pair of jeans at Goody's that had holes ALL over them, they were so cool! Before we could buy them, my friends and I made our own. I don't think I owned any jeans without holes in the knees, or bleach spots at least. I remember having a heck of a time getting all of the rocks out of the washing machine (handmade stone-washed!). We hung out at the skating rink and cruised the mall on foot and went to the movies to meet guys and we were only 12 or 13. Now I'd never let my kid's do that. On Halloween we would go all over the neighborhood by ourselves and our parents never worried about anything happening to us. I remember setting my best friends hair on fire with a cigarette once, lack of expeirence on my part, too much hair spray on hers! I remember blowing my hair dry with my head hanging upside down and spraying it with Rave Super Hold at the same time. I still own a crimping iron, my daughter thinks it's cool! I still have a silk screened tapestry of Poison that used to be on my ceiling. I was born in '71 so I came of age in the 80's. There has never been a decade cooler, nor do I think there will ever be. The 80's still rock!!
• I watch "The Wedding Singer", that always seems to remind me of all the stuff that went on in the 80's. Remember when Robby's friend went to Julia's engagement party with the white glove and red jacket(with all the zippers)!
• I listen to at least one Depeche Mode album every day.....my favourite being Music For the Masses...

• Listen to MJ's "Thriller" while practising the Moonwalk(it IS humanely possible, but there is one small trick to doing it!), look at "Back to The Future" and dream about a DeLorean, go training while listening to "Eye Of The Tiger"...
• Listen to Cyndi Lauper,Madonna and Lee Aaron (does ANYONE know who she is?!) constantly.style my hair like Cyndi's,even tho ppl@school give me *the* weirdest looks....Watch 80s music vid's and movies everyday....Dance along to "Love Is A Battlefield"(gotta love that dance!) Watch old 80s shows like Whos The Boss,The Golden Girls and anything else retro :) And wear sunglasses at night;):D
• LETS NOT FORGET HAND PAINTED DENIM JACKETS, AIRBRUSHED SWEATSHIRTS WITH LITTLE FEATHERED EARINGS PINNED ON THEM, ROACH CLIPPER SHOES, CHIC JEANS, SHOULDER PADS, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. THANKS FOR A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE.
• I was a teenager in the 80's and the music is what made the decade...there is a 'retro' 80's station that my son (age 9) and I listen to. He likes it but tells me it's 'oldies'. To me 'oldies' is what MY dad listened to, not me...oh wait...I AM a mom.
• "I Miss the 80s"...Hell, I MISSED the 80s! I'm 15 1/2, I listen to every Duran Duran & Def Leppard cd alive, wear dark eyeliner to take after Nick Rhodes, I have a VERY active imagination for John Taylor, I watch The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Bill & Ted, Porky's, Better Off Dead, etc., & I get VERY nostalgic for a 15 1/2 year old girl who was born in '86, listens to 80s music, watches 80s movies, who MISSED the 80s, LOVES Duran Duran, & as of this moment, I can't get Human League's "Don't You Want Me" out of my head! :)
• Listen to Duran Duran a lot(I'm personally a big fan) Listen to other 80's music. Use colored mascara and wear glittery make-up Visit 80's sites over the net.
• Listen to MOTLEY CRUE, Dokken, Slaughter, Poison, G'N'R and other great 80's bands..wear my ripped jeans w/ leather jacket and stiletto rivitted boots, will not be with any guy who doesnt like 80's bands or has short hair. And I say the work TOUGH alot
• Each year my high school's senior class has dress up week the last full week the seniors are there one of the days is 80s day. So for "80s day" this year I was hardcore- I had a crimped side ponytail, ripped jeans w a peace sign on them, orange stretch pants under my jeans, a t-shirt that said "homeboy" (like Donnie Wahlberg used to wear), a jordan knight 9" pin, a pocketbook shapped like a shoe, snap bracelets, plastic jewlery, a shoelace clip in my hair, a new kids on the block hat with pins on it, and i wore white bobo sneakers which i painted on w neon colored fabric paint like my mom used to do when i was little. My friends dressed up as Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman and a person from a Richard Simmons workout video- spandex pants, tshirt & a tank top over it- with Madonna hoar makeup on... We had a great time and we watch 80s tv shows all the time and listen to the New Kids On The Block.

• I still look at my collection of Garbage Pail Kids stickers to remind me of how much fun it was to find out what gross stickers you pulled out of a new packet, watch recorded episodes of "Miami Vice" heaps, and I still think Madonna is a sex Godess especially the way she looked in to 80's!
• Listen to the song "Sex" by Berlin.I almost feel thin again!
• I watch all of the 80s movies, The Breakfast club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink etc. Ive actually memorized most of the TBC and SC and Im working on PIP . Now I'm also wearing pastel pink nail polish.
• Always have Rave hairspray melon scented and kangaroo sneakers with zippers for your milk money.
• Listen to & sing along with Rick Springfield cd's daily.
• Watched Ferris Bueller, TBC, Pretty In Pink etc over a million times! I always watch them on tv even though i have them on video. Search the net for any 80's tunes I might have missed (my collection is totally cool) I still play the original soundtrax of Ferris and TBC on vinyl, and I think I am the only person who knows that Weird Science was a cool film before a tv show!I still have (and wear) my pop swatch, basketball boots and roll my jacket sleeves up to the elbow. I love watching the repeats of The A-team and Knight Rider on tv. I hate it when pop groups re-release a great song from the 80's and destroy it (eg. A1, Atomic Kitten etc.) still wear friendship bracelets and rip my jeans intentionally I quote lines from all the classic John Hughes films..and if someone doesn't answer me if I call them I still say 'Bueller, Bueller, Bueller' oh by the way I love the site! I'm glad I'm not the only one caught in a timewarp!!!!!

• I rent old video's of Strawberry Shortcake.I still think that Foofur is the coolest dog I ever knew.I stilll do the "Mario" from Super Mario Super Show. I still wonder If Rainbow Brite will ever get the gray world full of color. I argue with people constantly that there is a difference between The Smurfs and The Snorks. And even though I've grown up, I still wear either a big 'M' from the Letter People or get a red bandana cut eye holes and be Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, for Halloween.
• I wear my naturally wavy hair in a short, tousled style with bangs like girls did in the 80's. I groove to Michael Sembello's "Maniac", Spandau Ballet's "True", Irene Cara's "Tame", and Taylor Dayne's "Tell It To My Heart." I also love Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?", although that came out in 1978. I have all my stuff from the 80's. I love the movies "Reckless", "Endless Love", and "Fame." I own a lot of 80's style clothing-stovepipe jeans, extremely short skirts, and Dr. Dentons. I love Duran Duran, Wham, Def Leppard, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, Cyndi Lauper, Berlin, Foreigner, Queen, and Heart. I own lots of bright hot pink lipstick and bright purple mascara. Wish I could find a REALLY BRIGHT hot pink dress for my prom. it would be totally awesome!
• I try to use "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller" in my classroom. My students, freshmen born in '87 or so don't know what it means. I also listen to an area '80s station on the radio, to work, coming home, and try to request "Take on Me" every so often.
• Wear two different colored socks, BRIGHT socks, and layer them!
• The Care Bears bedspread never left my bed. I drive an 1988 Chevy NOVA, and leave the radio (with one working speaker) on an 80's station most of the time. There is NOTHING like cruising around to level 42 and getting weird looks from people at stoplights. I had no idea that big cottonball bangs were not still fashionable in 1995, along with spandex pants with scrunchy socks over them (in 2 colors). I can still fit in my shirts from when i was a kid. when i go camping, i snuggle up with the New Kids in my NKOTB sleeping bag. I wish the daily noodle was a real newspaper (and Silas the Snail could be my pet). When noone is at home, I like to put in my banana clips (in neon colors) and dance to Duran Duran.
• I listen to Cinderella everyday, my nails (at one point) were hot pink, and I watch The Breakfast Club every night. My shirts are from 80s concerts, friends and their parents who loved the hairbands, and ebay.
• Watch old Stevie Nicks' and Fleetwood Mac's videos over and over again S:)
• When noone is home I listen to The Bangles Greatest Hits and dance to "Walk Like An Egyptian"!
• I listen to the Cars and dance like Molly Ringwald does in the Breakfast Club, and I wear at least 10 neon rubber bracelets during all waking hours.
• Wear parachute pants.
• The thing I do to remind me of the 80's is pull out an old video tape I have of 'Night Tracks' and watch it every so often.
• I listen to DURAN DURAN every day to and from work! Can never get enough of those cuties!!!
• When i put my pants on i always say what happened to the "straight leg " pants this " relaxed fit" feels strange!!
• I listen to 80's classic music, while wearing my skinny black tie and dancing like kevin bacon, I regularly watch 80's movies, like The Breakfast lub, Big And Ferris Bueller's Day Off, I still talk about the eighties like the good old days, still have a walkman, and watch Macgyver everyday and the past year saw the concerts of go-gos, pat benetar, rick springfield and janet jackson. Long live the 80s. Dude!
• Everytime my roommate and I accidentally interrupt each other when we are trying to hit on a girl, we say the Ghostbusters line "I'm in the MIDDLE of something, Ray!"
• This morning I put on my acid wash jeans with the bow behind the ankle and pink angora sweater with the "v" in the back. Frilly ankle socks with pink pumps. The longest fake pearl necklace you ever saw, wrapped around my neck several times so I don't trip on it. Bracelet to match. One big Madonna lucky star earring in one ear, little stud in the other ear. Feathered my hair with my butane curling iron and put it into a banana clip. Teased it for good measure. Airbanded with my curling iron to Prince's Purple Rain. Sprayed a little "ice mist" on my hair. Struck a pose to see if I looked like Madonna. Need a little more black eyeliner....
• Sleep with foam rubber curlers in my hair!
• I wear all my jewelry at once, smack my gum and twiddle my fingers through my hair. I also stand with one hand on my hip, real sassy like and roll my eyes. And it never hurts to show a little shoulder.
• Play with my Rubik's cube, roller skate on skates with two wheels on the back and two in front, with a pink fuzzy pom-poms tied to the laces. Jake Ryan on Sixteen Candles is a total babe and I wish that I lived in Jules' pink apartment in St. Elmo's fire.
• From "Knight Rider", When Michael Knight hit Turbo Boost which made K.I.T.T. jump... Whenever I'm on the road driving and a car gets in my way or I'm sitting in traffic, I pretend I have Turbo Boost in my car.
• Pretend to speed skate (corners too) when ever I hear "Ballroom Blitz".
• Create dance moves to the song 'Never Gonna Give You Up' by Rick Astley (which aren't very good) and completely SCREAM the song 'Tainted Love' by Soft Cell!
• I downloaded an Atari 2600 emulator, and just about every Atari 2600 game ever released, and play them as religiously now, in 2001, as I did back in the early 80s. I've even taken to collecting the old games themselves, in their original form, as once I owned. Who needs Mortal Kombat when you have Chuck Norris Superkicks?!
• I love to remember what I use to wear. Nothing quite like Nikki Sixx striped stretch pants with my shaker knit sweater. Of course!
• Try to find those cool black rubber/rainbow flip flops that came with the matching key chain.
• Deny the existence of any Star Trek series other than the first one: there's no such thing as Deep Space Nine!
• I always play New Kids On the Block at least once a day. I love them and they will always be my favorite. I support there solo projects 100% too.
• I like to ask people..."so which Breakfast Club character were you most like in high school?"...that always gets the conversation going!
• I put on my "Sandy Shoes" -4 1/2 inch candies that are 20 years old and in perfect condition since my mother wouldn't let me actually wear them out of the house when I was 13. I crank up the tunes, and pretend I'm a disco diva.
• French roll my jeans and listen to my favorite records from my 80s childhood.
• I listen to Rick Springfield Almost everyday. Get out my leg warmers when company comes over. And force feed my kids Molly Ringwald movies!
• I still wear flippy miniskirts, lace socks with spike heels, mismatched long dangly earrings, and jeans with ankle zippers. I like to style my hair in a sideswept ponytail. I listen to lots of 80's music, either remastered on CD or off the original tapes, and not just the stuff people know; I'm also talking about lots of the lesser known stuff like Roman Holliday, the New Monkees, EBN-OZN, and Limited Warranty! I still have a bit of hair that's longer than the rest of my hair; it's bleached and braided. I'm reluctant to go clothes shopping because I absolutely HATE the current fashion looks. I'd rather wear my old 80's clothes than drag my sorry backwards butt into the 21st century!
• I redecorated my room and filled it with a multitude of items I got off Ebay. Reminding me of that wonderful decade. So when i wake up in the morning, I'm surrounded by lots of bright wonderful 80s stuff.
• I talk about how "Cartoons just aren't made like they used to be" and list off as many old shows as possible with my fellow children of the 80s at school. I also walk around school all day with songs like "Jesse's Girl" stuck in my head.
• I Remember when it was cool to wear big thick headbands with ponytails, and my E.T. poster is the first thing i see when I wake up in the morning. I also wonder why Vanilla Ice never tried a comeback..
• Listen to my Bon Jovi cd and know that no front man will ever be as hot as him.
• I take out my old Mundi purse and Esprit sweatshirt and drive around listening to the classics.....Wham!,Duran Duran....
• Watch my Rainbow Brite video. And Return To Oz, the best movie ever!
• Fight with my friends about which guy we would have ended up with at the end of the Breakfast Club!!!
• Surf around the web and search for 80s pages (*sigh*). Look at pictures of me in the Eighties wearing my lipstick-red Vanilla trousers and my pink plastic-sandals.
• Watch Cyndi Lauper music video's all the time (I ordered the DVD). Listen to the "Goonies R Good Enough" on my walkman whenever I ride my bike. Spend all weekend downloading cool 80's songs. Watch my collection of "Friday the 13th" movies every friday the 13th (and force my friends to watch also). Rent "Return of the Living Dead" because of those cool punks who hang out in the graveyard just when the zombies attack.
• Wear hair mascara (even if it DID get somewhat fashionable again for a while a couple of years ago!)
• It's very simple what I do, actually, I listen to the JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH new wave collection on CD. I've got all fifteen volumes!
• Try to master those super cool dance steps from Footloose and Flashdance. Those are the best dancing movies ever, with the best soundtracks!
• My big thing is 80's jewlery, espically Slap Bracelets. Currently I own 7 and 5 are actually from the 80's (they're coming back in now), and I wear one at least once a week. I also found this shirt that says 'Made In the 80s' in bold sparkly letters which I always wear a slap bracelet with.
• Although I was only a child in the eighties, I still recall wearing my splash colored stirrup pants and oversized sweaters with my big, stiff, curly hair and giant hair scrunchie with glee
• Use the words "As if," or "Whatever!!!" or "Excellent!", or "Bogus."
• I listen to my Debbie Gibson and Tiffany tapes, then watch Live the Out Of The Blue Concert, Live Around The World, wear some parachute pants, skate around my front house singing Girls Just Want To Have Fun, and get my daily exercise by doin the Electric Youth video dance
• I dance to "maniac" off of Disco's top 10 movie hits.

• I've wanted to go to NYU ever since I first saw "Fame." I am graduating this year and am going to apply as soon as I get the application in the mail. My brother (who is older than me at age 20) owns a Sega, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, a PlayStation. I own a regular Nintendo that my parents bought for us waaaay back, and a Super Nintendo, and the Super Nintendo is in my brother's room and all I play on Nintendo are Pac Man, Tetris, the Mario Bros. trilogy, and Duck Hunt.
• Remind myself every day that "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once and awhile, you could miss it." The best advice I've ever gotten is the quote above. I still wonder what happened between Cameron and his dad. I never eat food in front of a guy I like ("Sixteen Candles"). I've seen "The Breakfast Club" more times than I've seen any other movie. When I'm bored or waiting at a dentist's office or something, I start from the very first line of the TBC or Ferris Bueller and see how far I can get. I am still trying to find out what the rest of the joke from "The Breakfast Club" is. I refer to football players and basketball players, etc. as sportos, not jocks. I have every soundtrack w/Kenny Loggins. I still own a Walkman. I tell others that "Fresh breath is a priority in my life." The word "Dude" is a natural, regular part of my vocabulary. Think Keanu's best work is "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and Matt's best work is "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." I still try to see how Ted fell out of his suit when he hit the floor whenever I watch "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" I know who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavors. I call my best friend Duckie from time to time. My cat's name is Sheena. I still tell people to "Party on" and "be excellent to each other" I still watch old episodes of "Who's the Boss?" and wonder if Angela and Tony will ever get together. I own every John (Cougar) Mellencamp CD and cassette, I know how many time's he's changed his name, and bought my first denim jacket because of him -- and I still have it. I own the movie "Falling From Grace" which John Mellencamp wrote and directed and starred in.
• I went to the antique mall and bought a bunch of glasses that they used to give away at Burger King, etc. I have the Smurfs, the Muppets, the Care Bears, E.T., and Strawberry Shortcake!!!! Also I bought my boyfriend this huge porcelin ET statue for Christmas...just to keep the spirit of the 80s alive. And oh yeah, I put a Reagan For President sticker on my car!
• Jump on my bed in my underwear, put on "Old Time Rock 'N' Roll" by Bob Seeger and lip-synch to it.
• Walk around the house and at school singing songs like "Girls just wanna have fun" by Cyndy Lauper, "Material Girl" by Madonna and wish they still played those songs a lot on the radio. The videos were totally rad
• I got to the skating ring( in Member's Only Jacket, Parachute Pants, Checkered Vans, Jobber(Painters Cap), feathers on an alligator clip) order a box of nerds, suicide soda(all sodas mixed together), rollerskate to "Curly Shuffle" and "Safety Dance"...
• Blue mascara and eyeliner
• Go to Napster and find all the '80s songs I like, then Instant Message the people who have the songs, and then make myself feel really old because most of the people are the kindergartners I rode the bus with as a freshman in high school. That sure takes me way back!
• Wear a banana clip.
• Listen to Duran-Duran at least once a day, watch all John Huges flicks on a weekend when you have nothing better to do. Get some jelly braclets and where them out. Crip your hair and where big neon hoops earrings.
• Spray myself in aerosol body glitter whenever I go to a "disco" and spend the rest of the week cursing the fact it got everywhere!
• Wear my acid-washed jacket with velcro shoes and still refuse to accept Sammy Hagar as the new singer for Van Halen.
• I have a strawberry shortcake pillowcase, i watch my taped episodes of the facts of life, and listen to Nena's "99 Luftballoons".
• Listen to odd bands from the 80's, quote movies heavily, go to the mall a lot.
• Drive my car that has flip-up headlights!
• I listen to 80s music everyday;on a weekend radio music show,& during the rest of the week on-LPs,45s,and my CDs! I still wear black hi-top converse sneakers,pastel pink nail polish,big silver hoop earrings,watch 80s movies;like,Pretty In Pink,St.Elmo's Fire,The Breakfast Club,Weird Science,Sixteen Candles,etc. My room walls are covered in movie posters from the movies that I said I watch! I still own a stereo from 1985 that I play my LPs and 45s on! I have a couple of swatches and buttons featuring artists like-Culture Club,Boy George,and Duran Duran. I have stickers from The Thompson Twins,U2,Duran Duran. I own the soundtracks from these movies-Pretty In Pink,No Small Affair,Dudes,Hiding Out,Weird Science,The Breakfast Club,Sixteen Candles,The Woman in Red,and St. Elmo's Fire; all of 'em are on LP! I also have some of my clothes and accessories that I wore during the years 1985-1989.
• I listen to Gloria Estefan's Greatest Hits... songs like "Conga" and "The Rhythm is Gonna Get You"... they're so cheesey and great and no other artists songs bring back more random 80's memories than her. Everytime I hear these songs, I just get that 80's childhood feeling that I miss so much. Will somebody PLEASE build a time machine??????
• I watch the Breakfast Club religiously every time it comes on TV, even though I own it, I listen to Duran Duran and INXS constantly, and run a website devoted to each band! So, I update my site daily...look over the news at Lizard King and the Official Duran Duran Dot Com site...and of course, I still have my INXS and DD posters in my room, which have followed me forever...can't forget the eyeliner like a cat's eye, which only Boy George could wear! I still think I am going to turn him straight, ya know? :)
• I have a cassette player in my truck and I still have a huge collection of 80's cassettes that I recorded directly off the radio stations at the time. I try to listen to one everyday -- Depeche Mode still Rules!!!
• Fire up my old 1987 Macintosh SE for a few games of Cairo Shootout, followed by another attempt to beat the frustrating maze that is Transylvania, a text adventure that two generations of my family have been trying to beat since '85.
• Measure up every new band to the original Duran Duran... Let's face it, no one sings as good as Simon, nor writes such haunting (what the hell does THAT mean??) lyrics, no one looked as cute with two-toned hair as John, no one played better drums than Roger, no one looked as good as Nick in shoulder pads, no one played guitar like Andy... None of the new bands compare and I sit back, a smug smile on my face and know that *I* was there, in the 80's, to see all that greatness, to know what it was almost like to pass out at a Duran Duran concert and to know that things will never be the same again...
• I put on some CD's like Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, The Cure, and Van Halen, I play my Atari constantly, I rent an 80's movie every weekend, and I make all my friends do this stuff with me!
• Still convinced that Spandau Ballet's True is the most romantic song of all times, Duran's Hungry Like The Wolf is the best action video, Duran's A View To A Kill is the best Bond Song, Duran's Planet Earth is the best bass guitar based song, Duran's Nick Rhodes is the most representative figure of the 80's techno, Duran's Simon Lebon is the best music video actor, Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley has is the best male vocalist, Sheena Easton the best female, Pat Benatar the first Lady of the Rock
• Tape every show that Duran Duran appears on and check the Lizard King website everyday for new news! Quote lines from every John Hughes movie at work!
• put a really big brightly colored plastic comb in the back pocket of my sergio valente jeans-- i had to bc it wouldnt fit in my jordache pocketbook
• I coloured my hair PINK, like Jem (and the Holograms) has!!! And I have made lots of clothes like hers!
• listen to old records of cool 80s music, eg, duran duran, a-ha, madonna, the police.. and my room is covered with the cast of the breakfast club, st. elmo's fire...

• I listen to my CD's everyday, From Culture Club to Kim Wilde.I still watch the movie: "The Breakfast Club" at least once a month.....
• I think I'm gonna cut my hair in that asymetrical cut... really short on one side and long and covering half my face on the other side. I LOVED that cut! *sigh*
• I go to the Jem Starlight Jukebox web site and listen to songs from the cartoon. I also spend hours at web sites like: "In the 80's" ;-)
• Split your bangs horizontally down the middle, and curl the top half up, and the bottom half down.....secure with a nice coating of AquaNet
• I wear my plastic bangle bracelets, listen to the Go-Gos, and enjoy some Pop Rocks!!
• Go rollerskating on a friday night wear parachute pants sing "we are the world" in sync with all my friends
• I watch old taped episodes of the smurfs, sleep with a Care Bear blanket, and I've seen Labyrinth so many times I not only know every word, but I 've also forced lots of friends to watch it that often too.
• Put on a sport jacket and push the sleeves up to your elbows.
• Every morning I backcomb my hair to make it big while listening to 80's songs and try to fit into my "Fancy Ass" jeans.
• Watch a movie that has a 80's tune in it and remember when I first heard it
• Go to the arcade, and play a good old game of Ms. Pac man or Galaga
• Wear bright make-up. (blue eye shadow, hot pink lipstick. etc.)
• Do my hair in the same style as DAVID BOWIE and LIMAHL from 1984-1986! You know what I mean! I'm talking about those gorgeous long thin spikes of hair going up and around my entire head in a BIG PLUME!!
• I spend an hour in front of the mirror just to give my hair that Flock of Seagulls look. Flip through the T.V. channels just to see if I can catch a movie with Mollie Ringwold or Anthony Michael Hall in it.
• I play atari every morning, wear leg warmers only, I wear pastels or neons, I still watch Pee Wee and the Thunder Cats sing Flash Dance "Whata Feelin'" every time someone busts a move and if any one does something really neat, I scream radical dude!!!
• Talk about it at work and with friends who enjoyed the 80's as much as I did.

• Wear hot pink clothes or bright blue. Helps if hair combs/ribbons/lace matches as well as matching bright socks.
