Agnetha Faltskog, "I Stand Alone" / 1987 Review by: Matthew Carr
Agnetha Faltskog, the blonde who fronted ABBA, flew from her native Sweden to Chartmaker Studios in Malibu, CA, to record this album, which was produced by Peter Cetera. There were a couple of successful singles (I Wasn't the One, the duet with Peter), but this album never did and still never has gotten the attention it deserves. In many ways, it is more mature in sound and style than anything ABBA recorded, yet is still not as sombre, but more introspective, than their last effort, "The Visitors." If you're curious about Agnetha's solo work after ABBA, this is the CD you want to get.
