Altered Images, "Happy Birthday" / 1981 Review by: Tim Saracki
Some would have you believe that the only thing worth listening to on this recording are the Martin Rushent produced cuts "Happy Birthday" and "Insects". Not true. Thanks to Banshee Steve Severin the rest of the album is truly a masterwork. Childishly bizarre, and somehow quite sad in many respects, Ms. Grogan's playacting style of vocals cuts a sharp contrast to the sometimes hard new wave instrumentation of the band.. A really great album to get stoned to.
