Berlin, "Pleasure Victim" / 1982 Review by: Retroraider
This particular album is Berlin at it's very earliest, and after listening to it, a person would never know the maturity and overall talent this band developed later. However, there are some memorable songs on the album, specifically Berlin's breakout single "The Metro" which is a hard driving and memorable new wave piece. Other songs of interest include "Sex (I'm a...)" and "Masquerade", which has much the same feel as "The Metro" but isn't quite as catchy. The album was a bold step by a new band breaking into the big time, and it is a pleasant introduction to the band that would later make so many good tunes.
