This album was universally slammed at the time it came out, and no-one has said a good word about it since, so am I the only one in the world who thinks it's a brilliant piece of pop, fully of finely crafted and beautifuuly produced songs that would make any band jealous today. My theory is that the straight musical establishment was having it's revenge on sexual outlaw Boy George, and the whole drugs debacle only gave them the ammunition they wanted. No teenage girl was going to buy this album with an emaciated and awful looking George all over the 6 o'clock news. But he is and was a hero to all the lonely young gay teenagers of the 80's and this was Cultue Club at their brilliant best!
