Jennifer Warnes, "Famous Blue Raincoat" / 1987 Review by: Peter Ostmann
Between her soundtrack megahit duets, "Up Where We Belong" and "The Time of My Life," Jennifer Warnes at some time recorded Leonard Cohen songs for this moody album. Famous only for the most up-tempo of the nine songs, "First We Take Manhattan," this very fine release also includes Ms. Warnes' version of "Bird on a Wire" (of the same-titled film fame) and a duet with Leonard Cohen himself, "Joan of Arc." This is exactly the album to listen to when you're feeling melancholical because you know that Jennifer feels with you.

9.5 out of 10.
