Kate Bush, "Hounds of Love" /
1985
Review by: Erin Malloy
Lovely Lady Kate, who never did quite catch on here in the States. Hounds of Love is a triumph, in every sense of the word. The vocals are amazing, the music lush and inspired. Everything from synthesizers to spoken word to celtic fiddle is on here, and somehow she makes it all work. Keep in mind that Bush wrote, produced, and performs on all of these songs - a feat almost unheard of for a woman artist in the 80's. While Hounds did enjoy great success abroad, it made little intial impact here. While Kate's career is still alive and well, virtually all of her fans agree that Hounds of Love was her absolute peak of perfection.
