This was the first album for New Edition. Under the watch of Maurice Starr or Streetwise Records, it was a huge success! It was so successful that MCA snatched up the group after it's release. It shows NE's raw talent. Candy Girl was their first #1 single. Jealous Girl, Popcorn Love, and Is This The End were also hits for the group. This album clearly set the trend for male groups in the 80s as well as the 90s.
