Operation Ivy, "Energy" / 1989 Review by: Kye
Operation Ivy. Say that name, and some kid on a skateboard will shout "Hell, yeah!" Although the bands first, and only true album was released in the closing of the eighties, it is still one of the most heart-felt, back to basics album since The Ramones. Songs like "Sound System" and "Take Warning" still describe either that fleeting moments of a concert (unity, love), or the problems facing a modern society. "Energy" by Operation Ivy, or Op Ivy, is always going to be my favorite 80's album, Dead Kennedys be damned!
