Paula Abdul, "Forever Your Girl" /
1988
Review by: Peter Ostmann
This is the original "Paula Abdul" album, released before she became "the next Janet Jackson." It contains, among others, the smash hits "Straight Up" and "Forever Your Girl," as well as Ms. Abdul's unfortunately long forgotten first-ever release, "Knocked Out." The album never loses steam as one song after another goes for that special fast-paced, almost funky not-quite-disco dancefloor feeling. Also, check out the original version of the megahit "Opposites Attract," sans the rap interludes. On the whole, a fun album.
8 out of 10.
