REM's first full album (they released an EP "Chronic Town" In 1981) Murmur, is a fabulous first album. Very political, inspirational (in the non-religious way), poignant. Radio Free Europe was probably the most commercial song on the album. Groovy tune. Probably the best song on the album is Perfect Circle. It is beautiful and haunting and wonderful. All of REM albums are wonderful, but this one is probably one of my favorites.
