Style Council, "Introducing the Style Council" /
1983
Review by: Matt Newsum
The 'Council were the greatest band of the Eighties. Despite the likes of late-Jam, Big Country and Tears for Fears, Weller, Talbot and later D.C Lee and Steve White were the sole inspiration to British music. Tracks such as 'Long Hot Summer', with it's sultry, funked up beat, and the magnificent horn 'n' hammond inspired 'Speak like a child' made this mini-LP an excellent addition to Weller's back catalogue...
