The Church, "The Church (Of Skin And Heart)" /
1982
Review by: Pete Dean
This debut release is brilliant. Released as "The Church" in the U.K. and "Of Skin And Heart" elsewhere. "Is This Where You Live?" on their first visit to England vividly stands out in my memory even though they were only a support act and I'd never heard of them at the time. I've been a fan ever since. "Bel-Air" is still probably my favourite Church tracks, but "The Ungaurded Moment" comes a close second. If you don't have any Church in your collection and you're into good melodic pop / psychadelia then this album or "The Blurred Crusade" is a must.
10 out of 10.
