The Waitresses, "Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?" /
1981
Review by: Eric Sweenor
The Waitresses debut LP,
Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?, proves that though the Waitresses were never extremely popular, they were a force to be reckoned with in new wave. This LP features their classic "I Know What Boys Like" and the less-well-known "Quit", "No Guilt", the title track, "It's My Car", and a bunch of others in the same style. Patty Donahue's matter-of-fact, not-really-singing voice delivers Chris Butler's strangely in-touch with females lyrics with pure class and heart.
10 out of 10.
