Wham!, "The Final" / 1986 Review by: Ray Penn
One of the biggest if shortest lived bands of the 80s. Their swansong album "The Final" contains all of the bands best known hits as well as two solo ballads by lead singer George Michael ("Careless Whisper" and "A Different Corner"). "Club Tropicana" (Track 4) and "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" (Track 5) stand out as true 80s anthems. Unfortunately only the first 12 tracks on this 14 track album will jog any distant memories of dancing at the local teenage disco (and being home before 10pm), the last two tracks are definitely a bit lame, probably chosen at the last minute to fill the space. A shame really as without them this album could quite easily score 10 out of 10.

9 out of 10.
