  • The Lost '80s Lunch - Detroit (actually Windsor, Ontario), MI
    On cidr-fm (Lite Rock 93-9 fm, Lite Rock, Less Talk) weekdays from noon to 1 p.m. Not bad, considering that Detroit hasn't had a lunchtime '80s show since 96.3 fm (then wplt, now wdvd) dropped pretty much all its '80s retro programming (curse their souls!). This seems to be a new show.
  • 80's Night - Detroit, MI
    Alice 106.7 does an 80's segment. The host is Jeff Woodward. It's Saturdays from 9:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. Also, every now and then, Alice 106.7 does a 80's weekend, where every hour features songs from a certain year of the 80's.

    89FM, The Impact (88.9) WDBM East Lansing, Friday 8PM-10PM, Always taking lots of requests and specializing in hits that paved the way for modern alternative music. Also featuring Old School Hip Hop, R&B, Punk, Funk and Dance! Also on the Internet: http://www.wdbm.msu.edu with RealAudio.
  • Saturday Night Retro - Lansing, MI
    99.1 WFMK, 8p-Midnight, I currently host the retro show on this station. It is an all request show and encourages listener participation with nostalgia, flashbacks, requests, etc. Contests include "The Retro Lyric Line" where the listener is given a line of a tune from the 80's and they have to identify it. Also includes various trivia and clips from commercials, TV shows, etc in which they have to identify for prizes. Throughout the show, old crusty theme songs, commercials, etc are tossed in for flashbacks "Oh WOW!" factor. Research is done through the week before the show airs for information/events/etc from the 80's and late 70's. :) Yes, I loved "We are the World" as I wore my leg warmers, ribbon barrettes, and neon clothes!!! :))

    The 80s Rage is Southern Minnesota's most popular 80s show broadcast weeknights M-F 8pm-9pm. Jay covers almost everything that you might've forgotten, or that you wish you would forget, with headlines and audio clips from tv & Movies, Sports highlights and of course the music from all the hard rock and hair metal artists from the decade of decadence like Motley Crue-Quiet Riot-Dokken-Def Leppard-The Cult. The playlist and listenership both continue to grow. Since growing up in the 1980s, knowing all about the music and the events that shaped that era, & simply knowing that starting a retro-show like The 80s Rage at the right time (Feb. '00) would give the listeners another hero on the radio...Jay rocks Southern Minnesota and has had the #1 night show in the market for over 2 years.     On WKUF-LP FM 94.3 every Saturday from 4-7 pm, I play a wide variety of music from the 70s and 80s. A typical show features artists as diverse as Steely Dan, Public Enemy, Cyndi Lauper, The Ojays, and Def Leppard. Along with the hits, I also mix in songs that have largely been forgotten. I also do rotating features such as: The Guilty Pleasure of the Week, Common Thread, On the Flip Side, and a rundown of events that happened that week during the 70s and 80s.
