    • Crocodile Rocks - Austin, TX
      Fridays, 107.7 The End broadcasts live from 10p.m to midnight in the upstairs room of Crocodile Rocks (formerly Bob Popular). Jimmy plays a mix of hip-hop, popular radio songs and the very occassional new wave song. Crocodile Rocks is at 402~404~406 East Sixth Street at Trinity.     • Elysium - Austin, TX
      Sunday night they play retro 80s. It gets pretty packed there. I see from their website that Wednesday they also play 80s Retro and Old School 80s Goth. Elysium is at 705 Red River. Cover is usually $3. Their website is http://www.elysiumonline.net/index.html

      Wensdays, Kangaroo has New Wave/80s night every wensday. The building is very nice(velvet couches, oil paintings, etc0 and the music is very high quality. Lots of very rare new wave like Sharp and Numan, Telekin, Peter Schilling etc.

      wed, fri, sat , and sun, A very nice club(dark atmosphere...lots of velvet furniture). I spin as much New Wave music as I can possibly get away with, and trying to have a completly hard core new wave format.

      Eighties music is played on Friday nights. They do not play the typical radio music of that decade, but the closet classics that were played in dance clubs during that time.

      9 to 1am every sunday at the roxy plays music from club 6400 and the ocean club
    • Club 6400/Fizz TX
      Legedary Club 6400 in Houston Texas. Opened as Fizz in 1984. Fizz was the first club in Texas with a moving truss, and Co2 shooting out of the ceiling. Fizz closed in November of 1986 to remodel, it opned as Hippo in December of 1986. Club 6400 started as a one night promotion, with the entrance moving to the side door. Club 6400 accepted 18 and up. It took off! What most people forgot, is that all club 6400 did, was revert back to the music format that Fizz employed. Fizz was very aggresive with original DJ's Thomas 'Scooter' Bearden, and John Adame. Jesus was the lightman, which then became a DJ at Club 6400. Scooter, left to spin at Club Heaven, and John (Johnny Hook) Adame left for New York City, where he played for the next 10 years. Other DJ's followed like Earl Francis, Mike Snow, which were not as talented technically as the origibal Fizz DJ's. Fizz was Great, the atmosphere, etc. Club 6400 was as good, but nothing is as good as the original! GV

      Hailey's is in Denton(north of dallas) a block off of the square and has an amazing 80's dance night every thursday night. There is no cover for 21 and up and things usually heat up after 11.

      88.1 KTXT FM, The show has been going for 7 years, features 80's New Wave and 80's Dance. It's on every Saturday night from 7-10pm. One of the first Retro shows on the Radio. The current host is Kid Chaos who has hosted for 2 years. Features include new remixes of 80's songs, classic remixes, on-air mixes, a nightly 'Cheesy Song of the 80's' and an occassional Feature Artist, as well as goofy antics and trivia.

    • The '80s at Eight - San Antonio, TX
      KSMG-FM (105.3 FM), Magic 105.They play '80s music exclusively during the 8-9 p.m. (CT) slot. It's hosted by '80s fanatic Mark Velasco. They routinely get new songs to play on the show (ex: six months ago they started playing Icehouse's 'Electric Blue'), and requests can be sent via phone, fax, or e-mail. The station has an Internet address, too! It's http://www.magic105.com, and it's got cool graphics and everything. What's really neat is that the station also plays '80s music throughout the night and day, and it broadcasts 'The Amazing '80s' every Sat. nite from 10 p.m.-midnight (CT).
    • Way Back Wednesday - Waco/Austin, TX
      Roughly 7am-6pm Wednesdays. Both 96.7 in Austin and 97.5 from Waco have Way Back Wednesday, but I've found that the Waco version is much better. It plays a wider variety of 80s music, sometimes things you haven't heard SINCE the 80s. The Austin station repeats the same old late-70s disco (if I hear 'Ring my Bell' one more time....) and 80s super-popular music only. They also can't go an entire Wednesday without inserting some of their regular pop music into the mix.
