Top Ten Lists of Eighties Movies
The concept is pretty easily, pick your ten favorite movies from the eighties. The hard part? I want JUST movies from the eighties, not movies you might have seen during the eighties. Also, try and avoid movies that came out after the eighties if possible, 1990 is pretty borderline, I won't scream too loudly if you add one that is from then...

The blond in that movie looked like Elisabeth Shue and it showed her tits. Awesome
- 8. The Breakfast Club
I cried.

That movie to me put Arnold on the map in hollywood. The best movie to come out of the eighties.
The Eighties in my opinion is the decade of good movies from horror to comedy. By pushing the envolope better movies were made and there were more nudity by prettier females thus making a better movie.

Just plain enjoyable.
- 9. Do The Right Thing
Only the Academy did the wrong thing by not nominating this, the only Spike Lee film that could be called flawless.

With "Halloween", the scariest picture ever. Wes Craven is a horror master.
- 6. Blue Velvet
The groundbreaking underground masterpiece.
- 5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
Speilberg again. Say what you will, the guy can make movies!
- 4. My Life as a Dog
See above.
- 3. Wings of Desire
One of the two greatest foreign films of the 80's.
- 2. ET
Even the glut of advertising gimmicks didn't diminish the power of this, the greatest of Speilberg epics.
- 1. Raging Bull
The oscar going to "Ordinary People" instead of this is the greatest travesty in Oscar's rather checkered history.
Arrrgh! The 80's. Right up there with the 50's for schlock entertainment. "Ghandi", "Last Emperor" and all the rest of those empty headed epics stole all the thunder from the lesser masterpieces of the time. Honorable mention to "Empire of the Sun" because I couldn't put another Spielberg film on the list for fear of not being taken seriously.

"Planes Trains and Automobiles" "Uncle Buck" "Krush Groove" "The Karate Kid (1 and 2)" and "The Great Outdoors" are also very good movies. R.I.P. Jam Master Jay, John Lennon, John Belushi and John Candy.
