Top Ten Lists of Eighties Movies
The concept is pretty easily, pick your ten favorite movies from the eighties. The hard part? I want JUST movies from the eighties, not movies you might have seen during the eighties. Also, try and avoid movies that came out after the eighties if possible, 1990 is pretty borderline, I won't scream too loudly if you add one that is from then...

- 1. The Terminator
That movie to me put Arnold on the map in hollywood. The best movie to come out of the eighties.

One of the two greatest foreign films of the 80's.
- 2. ET
Even the glut of advertising gimmicks didn't diminish the power of this, the greatest of Speilberg epics.
- 1. Raging Bull
The oscar going to "Ordinary People" instead of this is the greatest travesty in Oscar's rather checkered history.
Arrrgh! The 80's. Right up there with the 50's for schlock entertainment. "Ghandi", "Last Emperor" and all the rest of those empty headed epics stole all the thunder from the lesser masterpieces of the time. Honorable mention to "Empire of the Sun" because I couldn't put another Spielberg film on the list for fear of not being taken seriously.

Best movie Tom Cruise has ever done, and one of the best romantic fantasy movies ever. The entire movie epitomizes that era for me.
80's movies are the best.
These aren't necessarily in top 10 order, but close enough. I was born in the mid-80s and most of these I didn't see until I was older, but I'm an 80s child and these movies will always represent that era!

Easily the best film ever (not just Star Wars)! Action, drama, romance, spirituality, sci-fi. It has it all.
Michael Jackson was the biggest star of the 80's (if not our generation) but he's not a movie so I didn't include him. "Planes Trains and Automobiles" "Uncle Buck" "Krush Groove" "The Karate Kid (1 and 2)" and "The Great Outdoors" are also very good movies. R.I.P. Jam Master Jay, John Lennon, John Belushi and John Candy.

This movie has THE very best soundtrack of any movie in the decade. This was to the 80s music-wise, what Saturday Night Fever was to the 70s.
