"Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking when I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head; Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking when I said by rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed." Now this is one guy who missed the concept of happy-go-lucky times in the 80s! Morrissey rules!

Any song about partying in the future is a good choice... Everyone had conversations about what they would be doing on Dec 31, 1999.

It always got you psyched up at the right times... Beats Sunday, Bloody Sunday AND News Years Day in my opinion.
The Cure, INXS, any UK syntha-pop artist (Pet Shop Boys, Psychadelic Furs, English Beat, Depeche Mode, Level 42, Squeeze, Spandau Ballet... you name it!), Madonna -- but that's because she is the 80s herself (her mucis is terrible), Peter Gabriel (specifically, "So!"), any big hair band (Warrant, Guns 'n Roses, Skid Row, Stryper, Poison.. this list is endless!), Talking Heads/David Byrne, Duran Duran, Culture Club... andany other band I may have missed from "The Wedding Singer," "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "Last American Virgin" or John Hughes movie soundtracks.

I've listened to a wide range of rock music, hence the departure. A good song's a good song no matter the style.

- 4. Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order
- 3. Shout by Tears for Fears

These aren't in any order, and thanks to some of the other lists reminding me of songs that really should be on a top 100 list, but I'm finding few quite qualify for my personal top 10. Sorry for all the DM...they have so many songs, and it seems I really consider quite a few to be the best songs of the 80s.
