Clothes of the Eighties, Clothes Beginning with G

The eighties saw a wider variety and quicker change in clothing styles than currently. That's why I thought this list would be fun for others to read and add to, so feel free to send me any suggestions. Years are approximated, since some fashions tended to last longer in some regions opposed to other regions.

Gerry F Mondetta Sweatshirt ASAP Black Mondetta Sweatshirt (Size S) with red Canadian Flag logo.
Giorgio F perfume mid-high 80's I can't believe no one mentioned this perfume. It was one of those POW-POW power perfumes to go with your big shoulder-padded suits. It was in a white and yellow box. I loved it then, but now it's too strong. By today's standards of subtlety, it's so tacky and dated now.

I had a pair of dark blue straight legged glitter jeans.

Grosgrain ribbons had a slightly ribbed texture and often had some sort of preppy design. Two popular designs of the early '80's were whales or alligators.
Gucci Sweatshirts Male Gucci Sweatshits 1980's Fake sweatshirts! Particularly Gucci and Louis Viutton, in fact a lot of older women starting carrying fake bags around that time as well. The quality is horrible and carries the traditional logo colors, and you can still find one in your thrift store or on ebay for a few bucks today! Can't for INC gear either!
Guess Female & Male Jeans, Overalls, Clothing 1984-1988 Man, was Guess ever popular! Started with the jeans with the classic upside down triangle on the back pocket. I also remember HAVING to own the ones with the zippers at the ankle. In 1986 THE thing to have was the Guess Overalls for women. My friends & I ALL had those things! The longer you could extend the straps to make the bibb portion hit low on your torso (right under your breasts) the better. Anything Guess brand was pretty "cool"...
Guess / Palmetto Jeans Female Clothing 1984 In my school you wore Palmettos if you couldn't afford the $65 Guess jeans. They both have that triangle patch, see, so from far away people would think you were wearing Guess and were therefore cool.

Actually the ones with the zippers at the ankles were the ONLY jeans that fit me in the length. That's the ONLY reason I talked my mom into getting me some! Oh, and then there were the Guess? shirts, and socks, and one pink ruffled layer skirt I had that was Guess? I LOVED that skirt!
