The eighties saw a wider variety and quicker change in clothing styles than currently. That's why I thought this list would be fun for others to read and add to, so feel free to send me any suggestions. Years are approximated, since some fashions tended to last longer in some regions opposed to other regions.

| "USED" clothing | Female | Clothing | 1987-1989 | Brief clothing line that consisted of very baggy denim jeans with patches of plaid/colorful cotton material all over, but mostly on the butt to draw attention to it. They were supposed to give the illusion of worn clothing that you brought back to life with the patches over the holes. These jeans sold for a minimum of $65 to $120. There were half shirts to go with your ensemble which also had strategically placed patches. |

| Unconstructed Jackets | Mostly Male | jackets | 1982-88 | Think "Miami Vice" - These were cheap unlined jackets, cut like a suit coat. They came in a myriad of color - from plain black/white to go-to-hell-pink! Usually worn with a crew neck or "wife beater" style t-shirt in a coordinating color. Often wore with elastic waist slacks and top-siders (no socks!) or checkered Vans. |

It came with a very small version of the purse that was a key-ring/change purse. They came in alot of different colors: blue, maroon, red, and the most popular- purple. They were very popular here in New Orleans. You could find them at the TG&Y stores. |

| Units, also Multiples by Sandra Garrett | female | mostly cotton/polyester knit separates | 1980's to early 1990's | Units was founded by Sandra Garrett of Texas based upon a fashion design school project. Units was controlled by others who eventually sold it to J.C. Penney. Meanwhile, Ms. Garrett tried again under the Multiples by Sandra Garrett label available in boutiques within Macy's. Neither label survived. |
