Top Ten Lists of Eighties Movies
The concept is pretty easily, pick your ten favorite movies from the eighties. The hard part? I want JUST movies from the eighties, not movies you might have seen during the eighties. Also, try and avoid movies that came out after the eighties if possible, 1990 is pretty borderline, I won't scream too loudly if you add one that is from then...

Histerically funny and made me want to bunk school like that.

Classic movie about the school prom and is even mentioned in the 90's tv series Dawsons Creek when the character Pacy describes himself as Ducky. None of my friends understood that as dont appreciate 80's films.
- 3. 16 Candles
I just love john Hugh's movies. This is such a sweet flim I 1st saw it in 1996 when I was 15 an a half and wished my birthday would turn out like that. Also Michael Scholfing(cant remember spelling)was a babe he later starred in the 90's tv film Wild hearts can't be broken

- 10. Real Genius (1985)
Saw it for the first time about 2 years ago. Funny as hell. I saw Top Gun first and did not like Val Kilmer. Once I saw him in this role, I really started to like him. My god this movie was funny.
- 9. Summer School (1987)
Damn this movie was funny! Lots of good one liners. You just have to see it to believe it. I saw it again recently after MANY years. It's just as funny today as it was in 87.
- 8. Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982)
The arcade at the beginning brought back a lot of memories! I actually just saw this about 2 years ago for the first time, and I really liked it! We deal with a lot of the same issues even today. Very well done.
- 7. Ferris Buellers Day Off (1986)
Funny as all hell. One of my single favorite parts is when he plays his keyboard and it makes coughing and throwing up sounds! I want a keyboard like that!
- 6. The Breakfast Club (1985)
I like the brat pack, but I'm not stuck on them. What I really liked about the 80's movies, and especially John Hughes, is they were simple. No 90's complex plot that takes a PHD in physics with a Masters in psychology to figure out. I mean, a bunch of kids in saturday school. Entertaining and very simple! I like that. Great movie!
- 5. Aliens (1986)
James Cameron did an excellent job with this movie! I've watched it on DVD several times. Sweet movie.
- 4. The Thing (1982)
I've got the DVD to this as well. Saw this on TV back in 83/84. Scared the hell out of me!!! Great movie, GORY special effects, and edge of your seat suspense. Not for kids!
- 3. Evil Dead 1 and 2 (1982/1987)
Low budget horror, and great! Own the DVD to the first. I absolutely love Evil Dead! One of the best horror movies I've ever seen.
- 2. Indiana Jones Trilogy (1981/1984/1989)
Love them! I'm amazed how the directors could take such a BORING topic (archeology) and make it interesting! This series rocks! I think part 1 is the best though.
- 1. Back to the Future Trilogy (1985/1989/1990)
As usual, the original is the BEST. Part 2 was pretty good, part 3 was just ok, since I hate westerns, but the DeLorean was in it! Still, I love this series! The whole concept of time travel is just down right cool. Can't wait for the DVD! I actually got to see parts 2 and 3 in the theaters. Did you know you can buy those cars on Ebay?? I've seen several for sale on there.
There are many other movies I like, but with only 10 to choose from, many will be left out. The movies at the top are definitely in order, but the rest are not. Theres just so many movies, so little space. The 90's just went to hell. They don't make movies like they used to. Too much plot and twisted story lines. 80's were simple!

- 10. Space camp
This movie had joaquin phoenix, when he was a pudgy little twerp. This movie had kely preston. need i say more. Kelly preston was the teenager of the eighties. She may not have been the msot popular highschooler in the eighties, but she was deffinitely the hottest.

what can i say. Steve martin as the dentist. Funniest songs ever. Totally outrageous plot. The only thing that screws this movie up is rick moranis, as usual.
- 8. Mad max beyond thunderdome
Mel gibson still had his sexy australian accent in this movie. Tina turner is cool as all hell, as the controlling bitch of barder town. The soundtrack is kick ass, and the chase scene at the end is uncomparable to anything ive seen in long time.

- 1. Goonies
This movie was just a classic , fun, kids movie. It also starred many of the kids that would turn out to be the teen stars of the eighties.
I refuse to mention any movies in my list that are actually GOOD QUALITY movies. cause saying star wars, would be just to god damn easy and expectable. I am all abou the cheesy eighties. That's what they were about.
