Top Ten Lists of Eighties Movies

The concept is pretty easily, pick your ten favorite movies from the eighties. The hard part? I want JUST movies from the eighties, not movies you might have seen during the eighties. Also, try and avoid movies that came out after the eighties if possible, 1990 is pretty borderline, I won't scream too loudly if you add one that is from then...

Beverly hills cop, wierd science, National Lampoons series, The Conan series (BEST SCHWARZENEGER FILMS...this should be on the list...I'm so ashamed of myself), that sci-fi movie where the chick from outerspace walks around naked (shoot me an e-mail if anyone knows what I'm talking about), Beverly Hills Cop, the original Batman movie (Michael Keaten), Superman (God bless Christopher Reeves, this should be on the list too...), the last starfighter, caddyshack, The Great Outdoors (God bless John Candy), Explorers, Ghandi, Fiddler on the roof?, and Fraggle Rock (ALL OF IT!!!!!!!). 80's ROCK!

    One of my all time favorites. I love Seth Green in this movie.

    Where do I begin? The best sci-fi/horror movie to come out in the eighties. Its a great high-paced action movie. Sigourney Weaver plays Ellen Ripley the heroine. She is a tough broad who takes no prisoners. Just an awesome movie, with quite a number of memorable one-liners. (Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man? No, have you?)

    Unlike the two sequels, this film has depth. The ending is over the top, but the atmosphere set in the beginning and middle part is daunting.
  • 9. Full Metal Jacket
    The second part of the film is not so good as the first. Otherwise, it would have been higher up in my list.

    Oliver Stone's best.

    Favourite film from my youth.

    An extraordinary piece of work.
  • 5. Romancing The Stone
    Great adventure starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The scene where they meet in the jungle is unforgettable.
  • 4. Airplane!
    Set the standard for decades to come.
  • 3. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
    Indy rocks!
  • 2. Predator
    Schwarzenegger's best. Not just another action movie. It has a great plot and the screenplay is excellent.
  • 1. Back To The Future
    Self-explanatory.
Some other 80s films that I also deem highly of, are the following: Back to the future 2, The naked gun, The bounty, Crocodile Dundee, Die hard, Ferris Bueller's day off, Gandhi, Manhunter, Planes, trains & automobiles, The terminator, Uncle Buck, Wall street, and The war of the Roses.
