Eighties Movie Locations That Really Exist, Movies Beginning with C
This is a list of places that are in movies, but have a real life counterpart.
Please try and be as specific as possible in describing where something is
and when it appears in a movie. I don't want just city names where filming
took place so much as I want landmark type buildings.

This movie was filmed at two different country clubs in South Florida: Rolling Hills Golf & Tennis Club in Davie, FL and Boca Raton Hotel & Country Club in Boca Raton, FL.
The high school sceens were filmed at Tucson High School. Also, the street that they Ronnie is always driving down is Speedway Blvd. (also in Tucson), and Kenneth's house is in Winterhaven, a neighborhood in Tucson, AZ.
The mall scenes were shot at what was at the time the brand new Tucson Mall in Tucson, AZ.
House in New Orleans where Paul (Malcolm MacDowell), and his sister(Nastatia Kinsky) live is on the corner of Chartres, and Esplanade.
Chariots of Fire - the beach scene at the beginning of the movie where it says Brighton was filmed on the beach at St. Andrews in Scotland
The Oval Sports Centre, Bebington, Merseyside, England, UK. The scenes in the movie depicting the 1924 London Olympics were filmed at the Atheletics track at the Oval. This was because the Oval's Grandstand was built of timber in the 1920's. Local people were invited to play the crowd.
The Store Andy's Mother Worked In Is Marshall Feild's Located On State And Randolph In Chicago Illinios.
The Christmas Parade was filmed in Public Square in downtown Cleveland OH. on January 19, 1983
The scenes of Ralphie's school were actually shot at Warren G. Harding Elementary School in Northeast Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. I was a student at this school.
Ralphies House is located on: West 11th St. in Cleveland OH.
The department store where the indoor and outdoor department stores were filmed was Higbee's. I went to high school with the woman who was in charge of special events at Higbee's when the Toronto production company decided to film the department store scenes there. They had been to New York and Philadelphia looking for a department store that still looked like it was from the '30s. Higbee's was the place. Note the old-fashion wooden slotted escalator ribs in one quick scene.
Outside scenes filed in Bedford Hts.,Ohio near Cleveland. Store scenes filmed at Halles Department Store in Cleveland.
Ralphie's house (interior and exterior)were filmed in the house where my friend Nathan lived. It is in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland. If you take Rowley Avenue until it ends, turn right, it's the house to your immediate left. It has been painted, but fans of the movie will know it!
Cloak & Dagger
Cloak & Dagger was set and filmed in San Antonio, TX. Obv the Riverwalk and Alamo scenes were really filmed at the Riverwalk and Alamo, but there were some settings that might not be recognizable to a non-local. The neighborhood where Henry Thomas's character resided was actually shot in an upper middle-class suburb of S.A. called Alamo Heights (actor Tommy Lee Jones is its most famous resident). The mall scenes were shot at the former Wonderland Mall (located in the near-northwest side), the first mall ever built in San Antonio. In the late '80s, it was completely renovated and its name changed to Crossroads Mall; its prior anchor was Montgomery Ward, but there's a Super Target there now. I'm not sure which Air Force base was used to film the AFB scenes, but I believe it was Randolph AFB.
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind

Coccoon
St.Petersburg FL - Colisseum/ballroom Pool-home on Park St. The entire film.
St. Petersburg, Florida The senior residences are actually just that and they are located in South-East St. Petersburg but when the gents walk next door to the big fancy house with the indoor pool..well, that's 10 miles away on Park St near 22nd Ave N. The owners of the house vacationed in N. Carolina during the filming. Other scenes were filmed in various public places all over town.

"McDowell's" is a wendys on queens blvd. Secondly, towards the end of the movie he runs past a car wash that is also on queens blvd name of the place then was circus car wash.
The McDowell's House is located in Queens, NY. in the Jamaica Estates.
COMING TO AMERICA: Site of the barber shop and apartment where Akeem and Semmi allegedly stay in Queens: Actually located at the corner of 5th and Hooper in Brooklyn. You said "MacDougal's" was the restaurant in Coming to America. It was called "McDowell's" in the movie. And it's not a Burger King. It's a Wendy's located at 85-07 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, NY.
The modern Log Cabin on Mt. Baldy, California was used as Matrixs Home.
Parts were filmed in Micanopy, Florida. The streets were strewn with leaves to hide the pavement.
