Eighties Movie Locations That Really Exist, Index

This is a list of places that are in movies, but have a real life counterpart. Please try and be as specific as possible in describing where something is and when it appears in a movie. I don't want just city names where filming took place so much as I want landmark type buildings.

The bridge on El Dorado street seen when they are taking him to jail. The mental hospital on California street. His home is located near the corner of El Dorado st and Alpine.
Coma
This was the Xerox building in Waltham, Ma on route 128
Don't Go In The House
The last scence of the movie where Michael is getting beat by his mother. The house is on the corner of North Ave and Calton ave in New Rochelle NY. Right across the street from New Rochelle High School
Goodfellas
The scene where Karen is on a pay phone calling Henry and crying about her next door neighbor bothering her. Parking lot next to Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle NY
Goodfellas
The scene when Henry pistol whips guy in driveway across the street from Karen's parents house. It is located down the street from Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle NY
The Prom Scene at the end took place at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.
The scene where Jake and Elwoods car comes to a stop on the edge of a section of expressway was filmed in Milwaukee, WI. That section of I94 was left unfinished for many years, but is now connected up to the Hoan Bridge by Summerfest at the Milwaukee lake front. There are many familiar buildings in the background if you know the Milwaukee area, most notably the 1st Wis. bank now called Chase Bank.
The mall scene was shot in the Yorktown Mall located at rt56 and Highland ave in Lombard IL.
Lucus
The hospital scene at the end of the movie was shot at Mary Knoll Seminary located at the intersection or rt 38 and i 355 in Glen Ellyn (the building had been abandon and has since been knocked down).
Clark's visit to the piano bar where he meets up with Christy Brinkly was filmed at the MEXICAN STEAKHOUSE on Route 66 in Flagstaff, Arizona. It is currently a funeral home.
The airport location in the movie always was shot in Libby Montana. The control tower and office they built for the movie is still there.
Filmed at the Illinois Boys Home on Rt. 38 west outside of Geneva. During an outside scene you can see Johnson's Mound in the background.
The part of the movie where Kevin Bacon is sitting by/on the fountain. Was filmed in the Field Museum in Chicago IL. The fountains have since been removed.
It was not entirely Filmed at Ft. Knox, it was however filmed at a Place Called Ormsby Village Treatment Center in Kentucky. Which was closed when the movie was filmed. I know this because I used to live there as a child. My father was a Social Worker there, and a scene in the movie where they were looking at the naked girls through the telescope was filmed in my fathers old office. Also the water tower was right behind our house. The last time I was there was in 95, our house is gone, in its place is an office building, the road has been cut up and a UPS building was built in it's place. The Generals house where the 2 main characters make it with the MP's is actually an old Civil War Mansion that was the home of my friend Steven Rife back in 1974-77.
Cloak & Dagger
Cloak & Dagger was set and filmed in San Antonio, TX. Obv the Riverwalk and Alamo scenes were really filmed at the Riverwalk and Alamo, but there were some settings that might not be recognizable to a non-local. The neighborhood where Henry Thomas's character resided was actually shot in an upper middle-class suburb of S.A. called Alamo Heights (actor Tommy Lee Jones is its most famous resident). The mall scenes were shot at the former Wonderland Mall (located in the near-northwest side), the first mall ever built in San Antonio. In the late '80s, it was completely renovated and its name changed to Crossroads Mall; its prior anchor was Montgomery Ward, but there's a Super Target there now. I'm not sure which Air Force base was used to film the AFB scenes, but I believe it was Randolph AFB.
The bar that Steven Segal got into a fight in was called Mickey's on Clark and Diversey. It has been remodeled since the movie was shot.
Parts were filmed in Micanopy, Florida. The streets were strewn with leaves to hide the pavement.
The town of Redbud, for the most part, is actually Townshend, Vermont. The gazebo near the church was built for the movie and then later given to the town as a gift.
The graduation/ pool scene was actually filmed at the Inn Suites aka Imig Manor off of El Cajon Blvd., San Diego. Sidenote: that pool was designed by Tarzan (Johnny Weissmuller)
Somersby
In the beginning of the movie, Richard Gere is walking in the woods. He looks left and the scene cuts to a large gorge with a river. The gorge shot was actually done on top of Gathright Dam, Covington Virgina (Gere wasn't actually standing on the dam, the scene was edited in)
