I had one box when I was a kid and I loved these! I loved how they made cereal versions of 80's arcades and Donkey Kong was one of my favorites. Yes, it's like Cap'N Crunch but it tasted good and well, it's Donkey Kong. I wish I could go back to the 80's so I could go to the store and purchase about 3-4 boxes!

I remember these! They tasted exactly like Cap'n Crunch, but were shaped like little barrels! When they first came out, there was a game board printed on the back of the box, & a game piece inside; You'd open the gamepiece to see what level Mario made it to on the board, & won certain prizes. (My friend won a set of D.K. shoelaces!) LOL

I used to eat this cereal everyday back in 1983. I think there also used to be collectable trading cards in each box that included stickers. If you saved up all the cards then you could form a puzzle. Does anyone else remember this?

Haha! Yeah, I sure remember this stuff. It was just a plain corn-type cereal shaped like barrels and had Donkey Kong on the box. The box sticks in my mind because it was one of the few cereals with a black box. The CEREAL sticks in my mind because we kept the cereal in a cupboard too high for my brother and I to reach. I asked my mother to get me some, but she was on the phone (they all had cords back then!). I kept harassing her until she got angry enough to get off the phone, poor a massive bowl of it, and tell me I'd better eat it. I barely got halfway through before I felt sick as a dog. Never ate another bowl of it again! I always laugh at the memory of making my mom go THAT nuts. Good times... LOL!

I was a big Donkey-kong fan back then aswell. The cereal was awsome. On the back of the box there was an ad where you could send off sveral proofs of purchases for a Donkey-kong long sleeved shirt.I got one, it was great. However, I did like the Donkey-kong jr cereal better.

fortunately for me I was allowed to eat whatever I liked whenever I liked and I lived on childrens cereal alot of the time. All of the video game themed cereals I devoured including this one.And the Jr version as well.I preferred this one as I also loved captain crunch, it was only a tad different I think, or maybe I just had younger tastebuds then and it seemed sweeter that CC does to me today.Cwisp also had such a sweet corn flavor and I also loved that. But the box and game on the back was the best. I had a DK Junion cereal bowl.

Ralston simply copied the Quaker recipe for Cap'n Crunch. Main ingredients include caramel and brown sugar. Eating Donkey Kong was like eating cerea flavored nails.

^Robert Lambert, if you’re reading this I’m actually really curious if you know somebody or you yourself worked there. I’m trying to find a very specific thing about this cereal
