This was the BEST kid cereal ever produced. I was barely a preschooler when they discontinued it back in the early 80s, but I still remember that distinctive sweet taste which has yet to be replicated by any other cereal maker. (They had a 'chocolate' version, too, but the powdered version was by far THE BEST!!!)

I have craved that cereal for almost 30 years and i have always wondered why they discontinued it. that cereal was THE BEST!! i tell my kids about this delicious cereal and wished it was around for them to try.

I love this cereal. Why did they get rid of it? It was so good and I have kids now I wish they were able to taste it. I just can't imagine what provoked them to discontinue it? It was THE BEST!

It was the best! I remember the jingle was "D - D - D - Donuts!"

Oh....my.....GOD!! I KNEW this cereal existed!! It was my favorite cereal of all time!! Nobody I know remembers it!! Bring it back!!!

If memory serves me right; Donutz cereal actually came in 2 varieties, Powdered & Chocolate! The Powdered Sugar ones were better than the Chocolate ones!

Dodododo, dodododo, dodododo, DO! Try DONUTZ!!! That brings me back, eating bowl after bowl while watching The Smurfs.

Powdered Donutz were the best. I miss them.

I can't find a cereal that tastes remotely close to this one. How sad. Those were the good ones.

those without a doubt in all my cereal speed munching days where the best. They satisified all the urgers of eating donuts in the morning and having your milk with it tooo. I myself have told my daughter about its magical powers and supreme powderness so so goood. THey need to bring em back!!!!!

I remembered living in West Virginia in 1983-84. Our local market had this cereal. My mom wanted to spoil us that day. So, she bought two boxes. OMG, my sisters and I went bonkers over this stuff. I absolutely loved it. The powered donuts was awesome. Why in the devil did they let this go?

I was walking around the supermarket cereal isle and for some reason I had an 80's flashback of this cereal. I don't know what made it pop into my head but all I could remember was how good they were. The texture of the powder would leave a weird coating on the inside of your mouth. I can still remember how they tasted.

The cereal Donuts was a great cereal that tasted like donuts with powdered sugar. I also remember eating Dinky Donuts. I wish that my nieces and nephew could eat this cereal and enjoy it as I did as a 10-year-old kid. It's been 29 years since I last ate that cereal.

my brother and I used to rage and break **** in the house till my mom would buy this, and then we would eat the whole box when she brought it home. I wanted to jump off a fishing boat into a chum line when they stopped making it. it was that good. I would pay $20 a box if they brought this back with the original formula.

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, a commercial for Chocolate Donutz by General Mills. A little blonde girl is shown eating it, with the enlarged cereal pieces coming to life and singing. This aired on "Kid Super Power Hour" over NBC (9/29/81). The show was part live-action (costumed actors as teen superhero students), part cartoon (Filmation). The 1980s "Hero High" kids interacted with superheroes of the 1940s comic books, Mary and Captain Marvel (Shazam!). One cartoon was pure comedy. The other, a crime-fighting-mystery.

I was so hopeful that the new Hostess Powdered Donettes cereal would be a replicate of Donutz, but alas it didn't even come close. Or maybe my tastbuds have just drastically changed since 1982. :(
