It's so funny that I found this. I'm glad I'm not the only one wanting them to come back! I so love this cereal. I too have written to Kellog's for this cereal to come back. I remember one Halloween the brought it back as a Special Halloween Edition. I bought like 8 boxes and wish I would have bought more. Now during the holidays, I always check the stores to see if they'll do it again. Let's all e-mail Kellog's and ask them to bring it back for another try. They make all kinds of other rice krispie cereal... (ie. rice krispie treat). So why not bring back the Marshmallow rice krispies!!!

I read these comments and I completely agree with all of them, except for the guy who touches himself to the thought of these. I loved this cereal and have not been able to get back into eating cereal since they were discontinued. A part of me died that day, and that part was my balanced breakfast.

I buy dried marshmallows in my grocery stores bulk isle, they are just like lucky charms marshmallows, and i add them to Rice Krispies. Tastes the same.

The original rice krispies are not my cup of tea, they are too bland, I always end up adding a spoon of sugar. But the marshmallow ones were so awesome. Bring them back, i have an obsession.

I also wrote Kellogg's about this cereal and they basically said they were discontinued because there wasn't enough demand to keep them around. I too look around during the holidays hoping that on some sort of whim, they'll have it limited edition but no such luck. I love this cereal and miss it immensely. i emailed kellogg's asking if they would be brought back. they actually replied...but it was only to disappointment by saying it was a test run in a certain part of the country and would not be brought back :`(

I'm not the only one?? I feel connected to you guys now. That is the #1 best cereal EVERRRR!! And even though I like the later marshmallows they had with the cereal.......I prefer the marshmallows they had back in the 1980s.....they were just better. When I found a store that sold Rice Krispies with the newer version of the marshmallows I still bought it and it was good but I so want the older original version. I think I would always buy all their inventory of that cereal at this particular store until they closed it and then I almost cried, if not. I have emailed the company but they still havent brought it back. It makes me soo mad bc all this other awful cereals get marshmallows but Rice Krispies cant? What the heck! I still search for it at stores especiall stores I have never been to. I thought maybe Amazon had it but no. If anyone knows where I can find this cereal let me know. I soooo remember this cereal! It was my all time favorite! They did bring it back around Halloween...I look for it every single time I go in the grocery! I also contacted kellogs and they wrote me back by email saying there was no market for the cereal to eat the rice krispie treats cereal instead...boo...that cereal is horrible! I had been craving this cereal so I bought the rice krispies and then bought another cereal that contained marshmallows and picked out all the marshmallows and then mixed them in with the rice krispies. (but of course its not the sames)My friends thought i was silly and i told them i remember Rice Krispies having marshmallows. Well now they believe me that this cereal did exist one time. Every time I'm at the market, I walk through the cereal aisle looking and hoping that I can find this awesome cereal. The marshmellows and krispies were a perfect combination. I need to eat this cereal again, even if just for a brief moment.

The closest cereal I can find now is marshmallow pebbles but nothing can ever replace the original. We miss you marshmallow rice krispies.

This was my favorite cereal of the 80s as a kid and I still look for them to bring it back. It was the best cereal and the tiny marshmellows made the cereal..much smaller than the ones in Lucky Charms, I have often thought about taking the marshmellows out of LC and adding them to Rice Crispies, but it wouldn't be the same.

Kellogg's sucks. I have written them so many times, just hoping my persistence along with others would convince them. There are so many crappy cereals out there, you'd think they would givethe people what they really want. I personally think it's a power trip issue myself. Even if they did bring them back, it would likely be the nasty version that surfaced a couple times over the years with SWEETENED Krispies. Yuck! No wonder it failed! Anyway, take a trip to Walmart, buy a product called Sweet Mallows Marshmallow Confetti (a buck per bag, colorful, and NO disgusting fruit flavoring). Use a razor blade to slice them into small rounds (they're long & skinny), toss with a little powdered sugar put them in your food dehydrator (I used foil with tons of holes to keep them on your tray), and TA DA! The closest thing you will ever get look/taste-wise to the real thing.

*TO MAKE YOUR OWN DRIED MARSHMALLOWS VERY CLOSE TO THE REAL THING,READ MY POST ABOVE (hopefully it doesn't end up removed for mentioning a specific product)*

hi friends i have a fond memory of this cereal and can taste in my brain. It had a little strange artificial taste to it that I really liked in this case. I too look for it in the store hoping it will come back. I dont get it plain rice krispies is boring compared to the marshmallow one.

To the person who posted a link to sign the petition to bring back Marshmallow Krispies, I just signed it. I have tried the Lucky Charms/Rice Krispies mixture and while the result does taste similar to the original Marshmallow Krispies, it will never equal it. But, instead of just adding the marshmallows from Lucky Charms, I added both the marshmallows and the cereal itself to the Rice Krispies. It's not Marshmallow Krispies, but it'll do until they come back (if ever...).

Yes I waited for years to bring this cereal back. lol. It's been over 20 freakin years! In 2012 I started taking the marshmallows out of another cereal and putting it in the Krispies and my 8 year old LOVES IT just like me. Would be easier if they just brought the cereal back. :)

They now sale mini marshmallows just like the ones in this cereal in the coffee isle. So picked up some of those and rice crispies and they taste just the same! So excited! Since rice crispie couldnt do it for me I had to take matters in my own hands lol

I did not write to Kellogg's but I should try. I couldn't really enjoy any other cereal as a child because MRK were sooo good! I decided to google them tonight as I was standing in the cereal aisle of Target lamenting their disappearance from modern culture. I agree with Natasha. I was thinking that I should just buy mini multi-colored marshmallows and incorporate them in regular RK. In fact, I remember buying RK Treats cereal once and despised it because not only was it unsexy but just had way to much sugar!!!

I know this is a bit more expensive, but if you truly need your MRK cereal fix. I would order some Cereal Marshmallows, can't put the exact link but search it on Amazon. mix them up with regular RK and boom! Instant MRK. Probably won't be as good as the original but its better than nothing.

I have very fond memories of these as a child. They were a special treat when the whole family, with all the young cousins got together, in the Pocono house. LOVED THESE! My sister always had regular Rice Krispies and I couldn't understand why she wouldn't go for the awesome pink box (my favorite color at the time) full of yummy marshmallows! I used to eat all the rice krispies and save the marshmallows for last. Yum!

These made the best rice krispie treats - I loved the surprise of each bit being different and you never knew which colors of marshallows would be in the next bite! I miss these and would love to share then with my own children!

Everyone! I used to love these things too as a child. I found a great solution to our problems! You can buy bulk mini dried marshmallows at some supermarkets. THEY ARE LIKE THE MARSHMALLOWS FROM LUCKY CHARMS. Anyway add them to rice crispness and blam. Awesomeness. It will do till they make them again some day.

I loved the cereal with the marshmallows need to bring them back greatest thing ever would love for my kids to get to try them me and my sister talk about them all the time

One of my favorite cereals.. i dont get why they discontinue everything that tastes good. Same with S'mores crunch cereal...little chocolate covered marshmallows in them....unbelievably great. ....

I loved This cereal! So funny how I thought I was the only one that still remembered it. The marshmallows were small and Would get a little soft with the milk, Unlike the marshmallows in other cereals. Wish they would bring it back at least for a limited time

These were my all time great as a kid and would be now. I agree many cereals in the 80s were awesome but theses #1 !

All time BEST cereal ever made! Even tried over the years to recreate some myself by adding some marshmallows in my Rice Krispie’s...good...but still not the same. I can’t believe they ever did away with them. I need some Rice Krispies w/marshmallows in my LiFe again!!! Omg! YUM!

You can buy a plastic jar of the tiny marshmallows,they make for hot chocolate,at WALMART!!!!!! So good!!

This cereal was perfect. Just the right blend of of flavors and textures. Not too sweet. The marshmallows were soooooo good. Please bring these back!!!

Oh my god, my childhood in a nutshell! I remember these, and I still find myself looking in the cereal aisle even though it’s been ages. People thought I was nuts when I’d mention them, hah! Now I can show them that, yes, they did exist!

I still look for these every time I go to the store in hopes that they will bring them back. These are by far the best cereal that has ever been made. I will continue to look for it until the day that I die. Hopefully it will come back in my lifetime...and if it does, I believe it will be a hit!

I think about this cereal at consistent intervals throughout the year. I always check stores, but I guess I was hopeful that it just wasn’t carried everywhere (I moved around a lot as a kid). Best cereal, wish they would be made again.

OMG I was just telling my mom about how much I loved this cereal and how it was the best ever and she didn't even remember ever buying it. I need to find an old box of it, I would eat it no matter how stale it was. I always look on the shelves hoping they would bring it back. BRING IT BACK KELLOG!

So I went on Kellogg’s Facebook and asked them if they would ever bring them back and the lady told me that the marshmallows that are in Little container to add to hot drinks are the same just not colored. So I rushed to the store and bought both items and they brought back the year of 1984-85 and the best part I could add as many marshmallows as I wanted.

This one (and its close "fruity" cousin) were the best of the Rice Krispies cereals as a kid. While combining Lucky Charms with Rice Krispies makes it taste similar to Marshmallow Krispies, I can't think of any combination to make it taste like Fruity Marshmallow Krispies. I tried combining Fruity Pebbles with Lucky Charms and Rice Krispies, but it still wasn't good enough compared to the original cereal I loved eating.

Wow, memories of mornings before school and during Saturday cartoons (especially in the Reagan to Bush years). That green-ish colored box has always stuck with me. I can't believe these didn't last longer, like not even until the end of 90s. I couldn't get enough of this cereal and I'm sure I wasn't the only one (the comments here sure show it!). If they haven't brought them back by now they probably never will - but I tell you, if they by some chance they did, I'll be going right to the grocery store. I don't even ear sugary cereal anymore but I would have to make an exception for this - just for nostalgia sake.
