I'm 39 years old with 4 kids and I still love to rock big dangly earrings-especially hoops!

I had a lot of earrings in neon colors, big geometric shapes...went great with the big hair and mini skirt, thought I was the bomb

I didnt really have "big" earrings...they werent all the popular but long dangly ones were...i mean long long ones...like one stud or a short one in one ear and the other was like 3 feet long or so...why??? who knows but it was the cool thing to do

These hurt my ears

Yeah, you have to have an ear-hole placed high in the lobe to wear these. One too low will eventually migrate out, and you're left with a split lobe. Mine are all placed high, since I pierced my ears myself.
