I had a few in the 80s and still have a couple today! Mine were (and are) the full cut style (not straight) with tiers and flounce (some might say they are a prairie style miniskirt)..fun to dance in!

I had one in high school that my mom made for me out of a pair of my designer jeans that I no longer wanted to wear as jeans. I've had at least one in my wardrobe ever since.

I have like 5 mini skirts. My mom hates them.

I have a picture of myself in a denim mini skirt and Generra sweatshirt. And a curly bob haircut. I look like I'm 12 - I was 19.

I know there has been a recent return of denim minis but I'm kind of glad they didn't catch on as much as they did in the 80's! Jean skirts seemed to be totally appropriate for almost everyone in the 80's from little kids to middle aged grandmothers with knee-length ones. I had so many over the years, my favorite was stonewashed with a ruffle. I'm glad there are no existing photographs of that! haha

I had a couple of them, they were nice cause you could wear heels, boots, or tenni's with them depending on your mood. Most of the mini's were very short though, you had to be careful or risk giving a show when you sat down!

That's one of the reasons we like them, nothing better than a pair of leopard panties staring back at you!

In 1987 I was 16 year old I wanted to look hot so I stuck on my denim mini skirt and these real cute strappy high heels sandals for my date.We go to a restaurant and naturally my seat has 2 not 1 but 2 pieces of bubblegum stuck on the top of the seat area.I look and felt it quickly and didn't feel sticky on my fingers so I sat down in the bubblegum.A hour go's by I went to stand up and I was totally stuck in my seat so embarrassing everyone is stairing at me and watching that I'm so struggling to stand up off my seat and my bf is laughing at me(not helping me to stand up).I did get up after a while being stuck I had 2 wads of bubblegum stuck to butt I tried to pull the gum off and put peanut butter on the gum and it is still stuck on my butt area so I still walk around and gone out with my denim skirt for like 3 more years with gum stuck on my butt I really love the skirt on me.

As a TV - My absolute fave clothing item is my Denim Mini - it is way too short to go anywhere decent in ... It is flared and has brass studs in it. Very comfortable I wear it with my high heeled boots and a boob tube.

I remember these being really popular summer of 1983, straight, jeans-cut ones that hit at the lower thigh. Then in about 1986-87, I remember denim miniskirts cut like early eighties Kamali flounced skirts, those hip-yoked ones that were called rah-rah skirts in the UK (but not in the US). These 86-87 ones looked like they had been made from old jeans, the denim faded and kind of distressed. Sometimes, just the yoke would be denim and the flounces would be in a lighter cotton, often in floral print.
