OMG! We used to wear these everyday. If you couldn't het the Dolfin brand, Dove's were always second best. I wasn't allowed to wear them to school so snuck them under my clothes.

Oh I use to were these all the time too! was the rage! I too preferred the built in panty type. I was a lifeguard way back then and we had to were red shorts over the swimsuit, then after work I took off the swimsuit and put back on the shorts and wore them all day. thay were too comfortable! I just didn't have Dolfin thou. I also bought NIKE nylon shorts with the matching tops, PUMA, and Cobblestone witch i still buy and wear today while I work out and jog. these ones are so comfortable I wear them even to bed. OH YEA! I loved it when women wore these shorts! I loved sitting in the park and watched the lady joggers run by. the spit side type nylon short would blow up in the wind and you can catch the rim of the under panty on the bottom of the butt cheeks! I remember having such a huge fetish for girls wearing these shorts, then one day my sister bought some and it was driving me nuts. I mean the sorts that is. I was having an issue with my sister wearing them but they did look so hot on her and I felt so ashamed. she only had one other friend who wore them and I felt better about that!

Guys love them just as much as women... So women get over it.. The stigma of guys shouldn't wear women's stuff is a thing of the past. You would be surprised at what your boyfriends or husbands wore when you weren't around.

Dude! I was JUST hitting puberty when Dolfin shorts came out! It was difficult enough with all the raging hormones, but to have legs, ass, camel-toes, lip slips, etc all day long was almost too much! I'm surprised I didn't turn out more messed up than I am.

I wonder if anyone here remembers satin athletic shorts from the 80s. There were several brands, but one that sticks out in my mind was in a JCPenney catalog back about 1980. It was a real sexy unisex short, I doubt if it had a pantyliner. OMG I loved these shorts! I must have had at least pairs, and I lived in these in high school and college. Even though I wore them running and to the gym, I was such a tease, and I wore them all over the place, paired with tube tops, and half-shirts. Oh man. Dudes, I was sort of clueless in high school. I loved it when my girlfriends wore them, and I saw pro runners wearing them, and I played football so I got some. LOL this is too funny. I'm wearing a pair now! The kind you don't have to wear underwear with cause they have a inner panty. I have 5 other pairs. all bought on eBay. My husband buys them for me and so far its all i wear this summer to the beach or just lounging around the house. most of the time i just wear them as underwear under my skirts or pants like i did in the 80's! slowly they will come back into fashion. maybe not dolfin but somebody will dust of the molds and buy the rights! lets hope! cheers

I loved these shorts way back when. they were the coolest! you didn't need to wear underwear with them just slip on and go! could wear them anywear in play or sports. and you could swim in them too. they dried so fast! I too wish they bring them back. I today wear those new DRI-fit shorts when I run. not the same at all! I loved the feeling of the nylon on my skin all around! tee hee

I remember guys would wear these too, maybe not Dolfin brand, but some type of nylon-tricot running shorts. They weren't "gay" either. That was before we got so paranoid, and guys could actually wear shorts - not these mid-calf trousers they wear today. I miss the 80's.

I met LA Rams Superstar Eric Dickerson at Six Flags Magic Mountain back in the day. He was rocking the blue and white paneled Dolfin shorts...I forgave him when I saw his very hot girlfriend ;) GO RAMS!!!

Men wore these shorts a lot in the early 1980s. They were sold in sporting goods stores and running stores, in the men's sections. They had a mesh support liner. As I recall, the women's versions had a solid liner, not a panty type interior like the men's had. They were totally masculine, not gay, and no one was embarrassed to wear them in stripes, colors or even pastels. The men's stripes came in green, red, blue and yellow.

lmfao looks like a carnaval! I just got a pair of some like these but blou and solid black BOA also for running. Never realised how efficient these were at improving distance and performance till I invested in my first pair of silkies 3 yrs ago. Wouldn't ever wear that vertical striped patern though would be to afrade of someone calling me for est gump or whatever or popcorn stand clown guy haha. However, you can still get modern ones like these in mens and womens versions and unisex. Check out boa, sork, uzzi amphibious, etc. For plain colors and different modern variants check out soffe, cobblestones, sub4s, and asics. Great shorts as there function specific and makes you look the part as a distance runner very classic retro look. I like it .

I have a little used pair of the blue and white vertical striped men's XL Dolfin shorts. I might consider selling them, but they have been worn about 20-30 times over the years. There is no lining in them at all, which is a great feeling.

The red candy stripes were part of our cross country uniform back in the early '80s, but only for the boys. Girls got solid red. I guess it built character? The candies didn't have the liner, but I had red & black ones that did. We didn't think of them as panties. Back then even the NBA had tiny shorts. When I started running again years later I was a little disappointed to see these were gone.

I too have Dolfin shorts. My favorites are the candy stripes, and the two colored ones. I wear them under mini and other skirts/dresses. I never wear a skirt/dress without a pair of shorts underneath. It's a habit I've had since grade school when the only thing little girls were allowed to wear was dresses/skirts.
