We called them "belly bags". They were hideous. And I had a couple of them at one time.

I have a blue leather one that's pretty big. I drive a school bus, and use it instead of a purse. That way, I can keep a better eye on it.

Very end of the 80s and early 90s, about the same time people wore those skin-tight bike shorts everywhere. Also about the same time Doc Martens became mainstream. Imagine all that worn together (with the fanny pack worn to the front, of course) and you'll get some idea of what that era was like.

OMG! We went to Disney World about 6 or 7 yrs ago and my aunt told me to have one for everyone to keep our passes and stuff in. Yeah it was a good thing to have to keep our stuff in and to not be weighed down when we went on rides, but we look so ridiculous in every damn picture wearing these things. We look like a bunch of 80's freaks!

Still have mine, Hell yes.. I use it on motorcycle trips to keep my camera and keys, etc. in. It's on its second plastic buckles and zippers. Never wore it for the fashion..
