I remember the Commander Salamander catalog! Fond memories of great 80's style! There were so many things in the catalog I wanted. I would be making a lot of fun of them now, had I been able to get them.

Commander Salamander was not a British catalog. It was an iconic punk/post punk/avant garde fashion and lifestyle store in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC. It was an absolute institution for 34 years before closing in 2010. Equally well-loved by DC's young, the formerly-forever young, it was also a hot spot for tourists in-the-know. If you grew up in DC in the eighties, you almost certainly remember it well. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/1985/10/14/marching-with-commander-salamanders-avant-garde/6390b96e-89a0-4cb0-9cae-3c8012ba7401/
