ribbon or jute ankle tie was more common than buckle

I Hated the long ties and it's a pain just to keep wrapping them around your leg. I hated them.

I hated wrapping the strings aroudn ur ankle it's a pain.

It's a pain to rap the strap aroudn ur heels and It coems lose again. I'm never buyign thoses again. I did broguth a wear. and I coudn';t even wear them. So I got rid of them.

I have always wanted to buy a pair of these. Wedge heel, always wanted to try them!

I had the espadrille with white ribbon to tie around my ankles and the jute to go around my ankles in a wedge I loved them both they ruin.On a very hot summer day I was with my younger brother when I walked into a puddle of tar and I had a niece white ribbon espadrilles on and totally got stuck in tar Im tugging and nothing happening he grabbed my ankles and pull and I was still stuck so he grabbed my rear pockets on my miniskirt and pulled hard and Im free love brother he do anything for me.

I have a black pair similar to the picture, with the buckle instead of ties. Much easier to deal with.

In style since 800 BC... And still in style today! It wouldn't be summer without them. I have ribbon tye, buckle & slip on flats & heels. They look great with summer clothing.
