Actually Ton Sur Ton also made mens clothes in the 80's...they were carried by the big department stores: Macy's, Foleys etc... Again oversized with silkscreened prints. They were known for a cut of sleeve that was wide at the shoulder(almost to mid body) and tampered in

I bought a Ton Sur Ton coat on Venice Beach in Los Angeles in 1982. It was white cotton, had drawstrings in various places, had a button-off hood and resembled a Japanese Fisherman's coat. Still have it and LOVE it!

I was so excited when I stumbled across this site as we are about to re launch the brand in the UK. All the favourited will be in the range, oversized sweatshirts, tracksuits and the iconic jackets. Let me know your thoughts! And if you have any pics wearing the brand in the 80's let me know as you might be featured in the ad campaign!

My favorite Shirts were Ton Sur Ton . I had a white shirt that just looked great on and I had a Grey oversized shirt with a front pocket and at the time I had a kitten that would ride around in that front pocket. I had the cat for 21 years and the shirt. Wish they were still around.

Just picked up a grey Ton Sur Ton jacket today in a local social shop for €1 - fitted, quilted body with wide almost wing like arms in a grey colour. Sort of Japanese looking design - well loved but still looks great. Will be wearing it tonight on stage. Does anyone have any history of the brand?

Ton Sur Ton was based out of Los Angeles, owned by Menachem Treivish. His girlfriend bankrolled the company originally; she had high-end retail stores in LA (cannot remember the name). I worked for a bank which financed him after he got well-established in the rag trade.

Did not know you had a site-on this clothing… But I found a friend of mine (20 years ago) on FaceBook & we just reconnected & she was telling me that she still has my "Ton Sur Ton Jacket" way back of her Closet & she wore it through all her 3 Pregnancies…. And she told me that was her most Comfortable Garment that she has ever worn & got a Million Compliments on was mine / Hers “Ton Sur Ton Jacket” Crazy (-: She had borrowed it from me & I have never retrieved it back since…. Good Old 80’S miss those party Days… I asked her “What else do you have of mine” she just laughed & Giggled

Our daughter had a TST that was given to her by her grandmother for a Christmas gift when she was a sophomore in the late 80s. One of her alleged best friends borrowed it one night and sold it to someone. It was one of the white TST puffy jackets. Tough luck on Melissa's part, I warned her. Still wished she had it to pass on to her 4 year old daughter.I was hoping to find one for our granddaughter.

I bought my first Ton Sur Ton shirt at Bloomingdale's at The Falls in Miami in the summer of '85. It was a pink, long sleeve shirt with their emblem. A girl named Disa Marie, working there in the men's department, picked it out and I asked her on a date and we went. It became my favorite shirt, and my friends all thought it looked like a pajama top. I wore it my first night on Hilton Head Island, later that that summer, and I met a blonde waitress named Melisa, while I was wearing it, at a lounge called The White Parrot, at The Holiday Inn. I fell in love with her, and stayed on Hilton Head the rest of the summer.

i had a cream colored sweatshirt in highschool.i bought at foley's in the memorial city or sharpstown malls. it has a poplin, or canvas yoke & a two button placket w/ metal buttons. There's a little grey & white zebra print patch at the base of the placket that says Ton Sur Ton. since It doesn't stay cold in houston very long, cold weather clothes don't get really worn out. i wear it occaisionally but it's a little snug in the shoulders now.(other 80's clothes also have are a henley from when banana republic sold safari clothes,a rugby shirt from when abercrombie & fitch didn't suck, & some williwear pieces.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a market to SELL TST clothing? I have a pink/aqua sweatshirt & pants set which I've just listed on eBay for the third time. I've never had a single bid, no interest at all- and that's with a starting bid of just $7.00 I know these are hard to find, these matching sets...and I really thought I'd find more of an enthusiastic market. Anyone know a better market I might find in which to sell this? Thanks in advance for any input!

TST was all the rage at the Bonham Exchange in San Antonio, Tx.. I had lots of their clothes. The best place to buy mens TST was Judy's at Northstar mall. They always had the latest and in limited numbers so you wouldn't always see someone else wearing your outfit. Between them, Girbaud and Bundeswear we were quite the stylish bunch. I miss the innocence and outrageously expensive clothes of the 80's.

I clearly remember finding a powder blue TST jacket at Macys in San Francisco. I screamed Duran Duran and I grabbed the last one on the rack. It was my first purchase with my new Macys card. In the 80's my mom and I would find TST at Theodore in LA. Just as with Theodore's own "Changes" line, TST was cutting edge, unique designs, but not far out. Still have some of their clothes - and have dry cleaned or pro laundered over the years so they've held up. Theodore was our go to place - had great bargains in the back of the store racks.

It had green stripes near the collar, which had a couple of plastic buttons. I bought it at Burdine's in Dadeland Mall in Kendall, Florida. I wore it in my 9th grade class photo in 1986. I loved that sweatshirt, and often associated it with that period of my life.

In 1984 I ran across mens TST jumpsuits on close-out at Meier & Frank in Portland, $99 marked down to $9.99. I bought one for me for shiggles, one for my mom to wear while gardening, and one for my brother for working on his cars. I’ve used mine as the base for numerous Halloween costumes, including last night — which is why I looked up TST and found this page! The jumpsuit is solid dark olive drab, small TST “CUP” biplane logo on the left shoulder and back of collar, zipper and big buttons up the front, knit cuffs and lightly padded shoulders. 38 years old now and other than fading where it was exposed to light in storage it’s in perfect shape. I shopped Jay Jacobs and Mario’s at the time, bought tons of WilliWear (which I still have) and never once saw any other TST, though I was somehow aware of the brand.

Yes I had a Ton Sur Ton sweatshirt bought in Vancouver Canada. Always complimented when I wore it. Cotton sweatshirt fabric with cotton fabric insert with logo in white. I did see their childrens clothes late 1990's- early 2000's in a cheaper chain store uk ( similar to Primark/ peacocks) . sold the TST name? Sorry it devalued the brand.

I wore a Ton Sur Ton oversized sweatshirt with matching, fitted skirt to my first day of high school in New Canaan, CT. Bought at Saks in NYC... The day was way too hot for the outfit, but I wore it anyways- so proud! But, I was so uncomfortable. I'll never forget it;-). 1986.
