I had a wet look a couples of times and I am ashamed of it!!!

Oh yeah I used SO much mousse and gel in the 80's, it was ridiculous. My favorite was Aussie gel, it smelled like grapes intensified X 1000.

I think the very first mousse was by Jheri Reading. I bought a can and it made my hair look like straw. Basically, it was hairspray in a foam version. Thank goodness they've improved it over the years...

Before mousse was available, we used all kinds of substances to get our hair to spike up or quiff like the hairstyles coming out of London in the late 70s and 80s: soap, Dippity Do from the early 60s, axle grease, egg whites, you name it. I didn't like mousse once I used it, though. It felt strange and tended to melt in the 100-degree Texas heat I lived in at the time.

I piled on the mousse and my grandmother would be in shock!
