Description: Slap bracelets were about 1 inch wide, 8 or so inch long strips of plastic with a cloth covering (usually neon, since it WAS the 80s). You held one end and swung the strip to your wrist. The strip would bend and encircle your wrist as a bracelet when you let go. Experienced bracelet wearers could balance the bracelet on their wrists and then quickly raise their arms and hit the bracelet from underneath, causing it to wrap around the wrist. They were banned at my school because they caused too much of a distraction
