Description
Sex: both (mainly male)
Type of clothing:
When it was popular: 1982-1986
Description: Small metal studs, either conical or pyramidal, of varying sizes, would be embedded into leather wristbands or jackets, usually in a block pattern imitating heavy metal bands of the period. Universally adopted by all "cliques" to some extent, studs were banned by some school districts as potential weapons. Easily produced by shop students or anybody with access to materials and tools, their popularity would not die out entirely until 1988.

I have a couple of bracelets with the pyramid studs. My horse's bridle has the same studs on the browband. These bracelets (necklaces too) are still in style and available. Check out Hot Topic.
