I loved the Arby's Sub Deluxe as well. I might just have to go there today, and ask them to make one for me!! YUM!!!!!

I've searched for some sort of reference to this sandwich for at least a year. I thought I may have dreamed this sandwich up. All I remember is that it was the BEST! I don't remember it having ham on it, but it's possible. I do remember it was messy w/ some kind of white dressing & maybe white cheese. Oh man I wish they'd bring that back!

if you want to make a sub deluxe, you should start with a poppyseed roll, ham, some quality roast beef (not the prepackaged wal-mart variety) lettuce, onion, tomato & swiss cheese. it also had quite a fair amount of mayonnaise. i think the secret to its unique flavor was that they smothered it in italian vinaigrette dressing that you can get at any grocery store. shake some salt & pepper on it & you're there!

This sandwich was the best!! Maybe someday we can have it back!!

I have tried to duplicate the 80's sub sauce, impossible to get it just right. I worked there and i remember it coming in a 2 gallon jug. It was like a creamy italian, but really unique.

Not the sub deluxe, but Arby's is coming out with a loaded Italian sub.

I just finished Arby's new "Loaded Italian Sub", and I must say, it tasted very good; in fact, I'd say the flavor (I asked for extra oil & vinegar) was reminiscent of the old subs Arby's had in the early 90s. Very good sandwich, will definitely get it again!
