Reading this reminds me of time when I was a kid and we would get Butter Brickle Ice Cream from the local ice cream man. Tragically, that man kidnapped Small Paul and kept him in a freezer. RIP, Small Paul!

I don't know if it's exactly the same thing, but Friendly's ice cream counter used to sell a kind of ice cream called Butter Crunch? It had a buttery flavor, with little bits of a butterscotch-like candy in it. They still sold it into the 90s, but then I moved away from the East Coast and I don't know if they have it anymore.

Safeway stores used to sell Sno-Sparkle butter brickle ice cream as well as other flavors like Lemon custard. Sno-Sparkle was the best!

If you ever go to Minnesota, find a Bridgeman's Ice Cream restaurant or dealer, and dive into their fantastic Butter Brickle Ice Cream. No one else seems to make it anymore. Alden's had some, but haven't seen it for a long time, don't know if they still make it.

When I was a kid Garden State Farms convenience store used to make Butter Brickle Ice Cream. It was vanilla ice cream with little, I'll call'em pillows of caramel that when you dragged the spoon over it they would be slightly gooey. It was delicious. I think the containers were 1/2 gallons then and it wouldn't last long in our house of 6.
