Description
"Mish-mush, I'm mushin' Fruit Slush, doin' the Fruit Slush Mush"... This was a kool-aidy substance that came in a little cup that you stuck in the freezer. It froze partway and then you mushed up the soft ice with a spoon. Some flavors were good and some were nasty.

Product of the 80's - January 03, 2008 - Report this comment
I remember these when I was a kid. They had the stereotypical "cool 80's kid" with large sunglasses and denim jacket, etc. mushing up the stuff while they sang the ridiculous song about "doin' the Fruit Slush Mush". A couple flavors were pretty good, but I remember some of them were just plain horrible! Though, if done right, I'm sure they could sell this product again today.

OMG I f*cking loved Fruit Slush! I thought I was the only one who remembered it - there's NOTHING even on the internet about it (except this site of course). Fruit punch was my favorite! What company made Fruit Slush?

That is so true. The first kind my mom got tasted like crap, but she got another flavor and it was pretty good. I used to sing that song to my friends to piss them off.

This stuff was SO Freakin Good! I thought I had found it again last year when I came across a knockoff made my Motts in the canned fruit aisle. Boy was I wrong...the new stuff tasted like crap and definitely didn't mush as well. I miss Fruit Slush! When I told my boyfriend about the original stuff he looked at my like I was nuts...yeah nuts for Fruit Slush!

I saw these in an Electric Company magazine print ad from the late 1980s. I ripped it out and it's probably in my house somewhere now. Also, in a few child development books I got as a gift years ago, some kids were wearing it on their shirt as a graphic logo!!! (Lots of those pics in the books were from the 1980s.)

I found the print ad for it last night!!! It was in a cardboard box somewhere. It has a picture of kids looking for them in a huge horse.

Are you interested in buying coin operated horses or spring rocking horses??? They are sold on Ebay. Most spring horses are made by Blazon, Wonder, Flexible Flyer, and Radio Flyer. Feel free to buy as many as you like. Good luck!!! :) Ebay account required.

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, TV ad for Fruit Slush by Wyler's, featuring mostly little kids. This aired on "Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley" over NBC (3/24/89). Martin Short voiced his own character in the 12-episode series. Ed Grimley found himself in the midst of bizarre situations, most of which involved his landlord couple, his actress-neighbor, Tina Malone, or his goldfish, Moby. Each Grimley cartoon was interrupted by Count Floyd (live character) and the Gustaf Brothers.
