Description
Textured Vegetable Protein and Seasonings that you mixed with a small amount of Ground Beef before using to make it go farther. I think it was around during the early 1980's and meant to offset the high meat prices of that era.

My brother, Tony, worked for these guys. Great company and great product. Better than Hamburger Helper I think. Hope we get more people on here. And please put a picture. Not %100 sure of the exact name.

It WAS called Lipton's Make-A-Better-Burger - soy additive. It was to offset high meat costs, made to stretch hamburg farther. But it was really tasty. It is sad they don't make it anymore.

My wife has told me about liptons make a better burger and how good it was. I think maybe the meat factoyrs may have had a hand in its removal, after all it did cut down on there sales at that time. Just a thought. I would have loved trying it.

This product, "Lipton Make A Better Burger," made the most delicious meatloaf I've ever had. It also doubled the amount of hamburger you were using. If you started with 1 lb. of ground beef and added the Lipton product, you would wind up with the equivalent of 2 lbs. of meat. Everyone that tasted my meatloaf made with this product absolutely loved it! It's a real shame that they discontinued this product.

I loved it. My kids grew up on it. Certain flavors were great. I'd like to know why the product line ended.

I tried to upload a pic but never can for some reason. I don't remember this product.

Used to see it in every store in Colorado Springs in the 70s. Big presence of military families on low pay and needing a way to make a pound of hamburger go farther. Don't remember a name, but I believe it was a soy based product.
