These nachos were the best! I wish they would come back.

I miss these so much, I think about them every few months but cannot duplicate the chili :(

They had it dialed! What ever nuclear cheese they were using was terrific. I remember that the chips would be somewhat limp by the time you got them home. They were served on a circular plate (black) with a clear plastic dome. They were so good!

Yup, I loved them too. Especially when one particular guy prepared them, he would always put two ladles of cheese on them, instead of the regulation one ladle. I can still taste them!

Wow! I can't believe there are other Jack in the Box Nachos followers. I absolutely love them and I wish they would bring them back. I too love the way the bottom chips would soften from the cheese and I can't forget the jalapenos sprinkled on top. Yum! Yum! Yum!

OMG, I miss these so much. I'd get them with the jalapenos on but then pick them off (I loved the juice from the jalapenos). The chips would soften and meld with teh cheese sauce and make a weird mass that tasted sooo good! I loved them, I miss them.

Should this ever go anywhere, should the great and hallowed Nacho return....then, and only then shall i find true peace. Everytime we pass a JITB or even see those danged commercials(hate the lateset one BTW), she tells me how great they were and they need to bring them back. OMG! Jack in the Box nachos were the BEST! I remeber my cousin and I would jump on our bikes and go get us some nachos, come home and sit in front of the tv. It was so much fun! Good ol days. Del Taco comes close but definately not the same. Those Jack in the box nachos were just soooo good! We've even written a letter to them but no dice.

After I left my comment on 10.13.08 I called JITB. They were extremely nice and said they listen to all requests. The lady then asked if I noticed their Nacho Tacos. After a long silence, I said "Don't try to sell me on something new...". She laughed and then offered me a JITB T-Shirt and Antennae Ball. Cool, but I want the Super Nachos back. Good news. They are BACK!!!

They're back, where? When?

No, it's not real nachos that are back. They are reportedly coming out with (or have already come out with) a product called 'Taco Nachos' which consists of two tacos, cut into thirds, on a bed of lettuce, topped with nacho cheese, melting Monterrey Jack cheese, jalepenos and comes with f fire-roasted salsa on the side.

Loved these as a late on a Friday or Saturday night snack. I never did like though when I'd get the Jack In The Box employee that somehow managed to miss all but two chips with the ladel of cheese. That has to be a skill in itself.

I was so excited when I saw the sign in thier window thought it was the ones I remember, I guess we need to keep bugging them.

Try Taco Bells "Cheesy Nachos" off the 99 cent menu with jalapenos. Not the same as that big ol' plastic tray of cheesy bliss, but not bad! COME ON JACK!

Best nachos I've ever had. Spicy, almost plastic tasting "fake" cheese was a delight that has never since been duplicated on my taste bud. A sad mistake was made when they discontinued this amazing treat.

I stumbled across this page today, as I do a search for the JITB Nachos every once in awhile. I guess I do it hoping I would find that they are going to return to their menu or if not......maybe JITB could give us JITB Nacho LOVERS the recipe for them. I'm sitting here with a mild hangover and my mind goes to something familiar.. .but I can't quite pin point it. JITB Nachos! That's IT... I'm contemplating Taco Bell but just NOT the same! I remember sitting in my booster seat crying for JITB nachos while sitting in the drive through. My parents would finally cave in. The whole way home I had to hold them in my lap so that I could tap on the clear top and see the condensation drip onto the nachos. Don't ask why, I was a kid lol. I would let them get super soggy, scoop them up and munch them down. JITB nachos were a stamp in my childhood. They are dearly missed. There is yet hope though, my second favorite snack was brought back. If Doritos can bring back Salsa Rio flavored chips then JITB can bring back the REAL nachos. Not these imitading taco nachos which are horrible btw.

The bomb of all mouth watering bombs was the Jack Burrito. A deep fried tortilla crispy outside, layered with that awesome cheese, beans and meat sauce, tender, melt in your mouth. Nothing matched this perfect late night snack. The days of the steak dinner, juicy actual steak, garlic roll, nice steak fries and top with one delectable onion ring was the perfect dinner. Bring these back with the nachos. These were great items stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

No freakin way....all these people with this one thing in common with me? My mom and I would take a 2.5 mile walk for the exercise and finish it off by splitting a beautiful plate of jacks nachos. That was my motivation. If they still had it on the menu, I'd still be excersizing!

I can't believe I found this website. I think about these wonderful Nachos all the time. I was only 11 when they came out. It was a weekly ritual of my families and get these awesome nachos every week. I vividly remember the black bowl they came in with the plastic lid that held the most perfect nachos. We licked the bowl clean each time, down to the perfect soggy cheese and chili soaked chips at the bottom. I would love to share them with my own family now. JITB please bring back the 80's Nachos! I used to work for Jack in the Box when I was 16 years old and I used to serve those Nachos!!! On my break that's all I would eat! For some reason I remember putting tomatoes on them as well. I think they might have come on the Supreme Nachos. Anyway, I remember when I used to ladle the "meat" on the Nachos from this huge round 5 gallon metal heating bin my mouth would water and I wanted to dive into it! I wish JITB would bring them back or give out the recipe!!!

Hey Jack Nacho Lovers, Costco sells que Bueano Nacho cheese sauce. It is the closest Ive seen to Jacks Nacho sauce.

I don't remember the nachos from JITB...but saw mention of the deep fried burrito..that is something I will miss till the day I die!! Two tacos and a Jack Burrito was THE special meal for my husband and I when we first got married and had little money!!

I used to work at Jack-in-the-Box and always looked forward to eating my Supreme Nachos during break. I loved them and miss them so much!!!

Jack In the Box originated, and still based, in San Diego, going back to 1951. Over most of the time, Foodmaker was the parent company. Unfortunately, this chain waited forever to grow beyond southern California, with several dozen stores in Los Angeles alone. In my area, the nearest JITB is in Danville, some 100 miles from Chicago. Up until 1980, the target was families, using the clown logos. Thinking the concept was going stale, Foodmaker made drastic changes, both in menu and image. The clowns were dropped and the menu was geared more toward an adult fare. The clowns made a recent comeback at some locations. The burgers were pricier than McDonald's or the King. The nachos were popular for nearly 20 years, now gone. Found a 1985 training video for JITB, which has a lot of today in it. It features a condescending female worker and a totally inept male employee. The guy does everything to himself, like dipping his hand in hot cooking oil, chopping off a finger while prepping veggies, and slipping-falling on his back, getting whiplash (improper footwear).

I worked at Jack in the Box in the late 1970's in L Jolla near San Diego. There was a "Taco Jack" restaurant in San Diego that test sold most of what you are all talking about. They brought back the super taco so now its time for nachos and the fried burrito!

In the 80's, I worked at a food processing plant that made the beef for their nachos. They only ran that line about twice a week, but whenever they did, it would drive everyone there crazy. A bunch of us would go up the road and get us an order at lunch or after work! I also loved the Chicken Supreme and when they introduced their Steak/Chicken/Shrimp dinners we wound up with 3 or 4 of their promotional Steak Knives which lasted about 25 years!

I still remember the day and location I was at when I found out they quit selling them. I was so sad about it. I was 8 at the time. Best nachos ever. I emailed jack in the box a couple years ago but they said they never plan to bring them back...

I have the same memories as everyone of the JITB Nachos. I will never forget waiting in line at the drive-thru listening to Madonna on the radio waiting to get to the window hoping they made them right with tons of cheese. I remember telling my sister- what are we going to do if they stop selling these! She said- probably lose weight.... we started buying two at a time before they stopped selling them.

Have thought of the Supreme Nacho many many times. Wished they would come back. I used to work a swing shift, and would look forward to these after work, I would get one for my mom, too. We would eat these and talk about our day. It was a true comfort food for me, and has a loving memory connected with it. Miss my mom, miss those late night talks, and MISS the best nachos EVER! Nothing I've had or made has ever compared.

This is the cheese from the 80s, Que Bueno sold at Smart & Final. ENJOY EVERYONE :) From Rancho Cucamonga, CA. It brought tears to my eyes when i made it at home with the round dish. I was 10 years old again in little league. Very emotional moment. :)

I grew up in San Diego. I was dating a young lady in Indio. Every weekend before driving to Indio, I would stop at the "Taco Jack" in Clairemont. I really thought Taco Jack had a GREAT menu. Can't believe that they did not give a chance. It was closed and converted to a Jack in the Box almost immediately after opening.

Amazon sells the cheese as, Ortega Que Bueno nacho cheese sauce. It's in a blue can with ¡Que Bueno! and a picture of nachos on it. The chips may have been Tostitos brand round chips.
