i loved going to Rax. they had the best roast beef sandwiches. and that cup was the greatest. i sure miss that place

Rax had fantastic roast beef sandwiches. I don't remember the kids meal though.

I used to work at a Rax (in northern Indiana) when I was in high school in the mid-'80s. Had really good roast beef sandwiches and a good salad bar with a nacho/taco bar section. The best sandwich to me was the "Beef-Bacon-Cheddar". It was awesome. They also had baked potatoes with various toppings. From what I've learned from searching on the web the chain was bought out by a different company at some point and just almost completely run into the ground. There aren't many of them left compared to what there used to be.

We still have a Rax Roast Beef in Joliet, Illinois. Better tasting roast beef than Arby's.

There *was* a Rax in my hometown... I remember as a kid the real live gator mascot (man-in-suit) was actually at the store once. That was AWESOME! Were the cups also color changing?

I loved the rax kids meal! I remember it coming with green jello.

I still have a Rax alligator kid's cup. We always went there back in the 80s with some friends of ours on Friday nights. My husband always got the roast beef sandwiches, and I got the salad bar. The Rax we went to is a Jenny Craig now.

I just looked at their online menu and I don't see the chocolate chip cookie anymore! :(

There was a Rax near Johnstown PA that we'd occasionally go to when visiting the grandparents. I was an unusual kid. I'd hammer the salad bar every time. What a gr8 salad bar...

I remember going to the one by my grandparents in the 80s and getting either the kids meal that came with jello or the salad bar their food was better then arbys and from what ive heard wendys recently bought them with plans on expanding them back to their old markets

I worked at a Rax in Independence,MO back in the late 1980s. I remember the one time having to wear the Uncle Alligator mascot suit during the hot, humid weather! Ugh!I was standing outside, sweating inside that suit and waving at all of the cars driving by the restaurant. Kids came up me and either hugged me, screamed, cried and ran from me! LOL! Now that former Rax Restaurant is a Krispy Kreme.

They weren't burgers, they were roast beef sandwiches. And there are a few locations left in Ohio and Illinois. I don't know if they still have the plastic gator cups though.

They had their “ Works Burger” that was out of this world! Yes, their roast beef was great but my go to was that works burger !
