Description
I remember this chili was just around for a short while back around 1987 or 1988. I believe it was only sold on the West Coast. A local TV station had a 50s dance party show and gave away cases of this chili to winners of different dance contests. Personally I thought the chili was OK (I preferred Dennisons better).

never heard of it-but i think i realize why it didnt sell cuz it sounds like it didnt taste so good(not so hot?). im sure he meant not spicy but alot of people arent that quick on the mental draw and this kind of wordplay doesnt work on them favorably.kind of like cheez whiz-not a good word choice-do you want to eat anything with the word whiz in it?

My uncle Ron created the recipe and manufactured the product back in the day. I always loved the yellow label design with the cactus's on it. He still lives Portland Oregon. Bordacomputers@gmail.com

My husband and I LOVED Ron's Not So Hot Chili! We would hide it from each other in the kitchen cabinets. One time I went to get my stashed can of Ron's and my husband had opened it from the bottom, emptied (AND ATE IT! Grrr!) and stuck it back in the cabinet. When I took the can down and flipped it over there was a note tucked inside: "You think you are slick but you are not as slick as meeeee!" Oh, lordy! That was some great chili and I really miss it! S.B., please thank your uncle Ron for me! :)

After all these years I still have a hankering for Ron's Not So Hot Chili. It would always be on my grocery list. It tasted that good! I also wish I had a recipe on how to make it.
