Probably the most iconic candy that came to be in the 80's. One of the best non-chocolate candies ever invented.

I remember that towards the end of the 80s, they introduced three new varieties of Skittles-- Berry, Tropical and Tart 'n' Tangy. Berry and Tropical are still around, I think (I lost my taste for a lot of candy in adulthood, so I haven't bought any recently), but the Tart 'n' Tangy ones were (in my opinion) by far the best. I used to like to keep them in my jacket pocket during the winter and eat them when they were cold, so they would crack like hard candy. Then sometime in the 90s, they disappeared, and I've been mourning them ever since. In 2000, the company that made them came out with a new variety called "Sour," and I thought they might have revived them under a different name, but alas, the "sour" kind in no way compares to the original Tart 'n' Tangy-- it's just regular Skittles with a sour powder coating the outside. So they remain one of the few beloved candies from my childhood that I haven't been able to re-find in any shape or form.

I love that, roughly 25 years later, the Skittles package still bears the iconic rainbow. Love these! But I only eat the red, purple & green ones.

I can't believe they got rid of lime. Green Apple is terrible! It overpowers the other flavors.

I remember lime Skittles. I don't hate green apple Skittles, but I miss the lime ones as they were much more iconic than their modern counterparts. I wish the Skittles company would bring back the original lime Skittles again.
