Back in the 80's, the nearest TB was 35 miles away. If I was in the neighborhood, I would stop in and have a couple. I even ate them when I was out west visiting family. Then they disappeared. My wife said she also liked the light as well. It wasn't cheap, but it was real good. One of my favorites.

Way back in the eighties, I had worked at a Taco Bell restaraunt in Northern California. When the Taco Light came aboard our menu my friends and I couldn't get enough. That crispy, airy light shell, along with sour cream and tomatoes is what made it "light". I could be wrong, but I believe they took it off the menu because the shell kept breaking when they would fry them in the store, or breaking before the customer would open the wrapper. I say,"who cares, It's gonna get chewed up anyway". I wish TB would bring it back, "for a limited time only", as a marketing test to see if it should be back for good. Please, Taco Bell, please???

I loved these, I ate them all the time. I havent found anything on the Taco Bell menu I like as much since. Wish they would come back!!

I loved those as well...So I figured out a way to get the same taste just a little different vehicle. I order tostadas and ask that they be made on the mexican pizza shell (flour tortilla) add sour cream and you have it.

omg.. i totally remember these and they were SO amazing. I saw articles about how it isn't "light" at all and it has a bunch of calories blah blah blah but I believe they were referring to how light the shell was. Oh how I wish TB would bring these back.. they were one of the best things they have ever had on their menu!

The taco lights were the best! I was just a kid when I remember getting them at Taco Bell but they were so good... and then all of a sudden they were gone! Taco Bell really should bring these back! The shell was the best part!

Yes! Please bring them back! These tasted better than any other taco on the menu. Loved the shells and still crave them! If they won't bring them back then they could at least share the recipe!

Taco Light was the best thing Taco Bell ever made and sold. I miss them. They were so yummy. No one has ever made anything that could compar to TACO LIGHTS!!!! If not Taco Bell, then some other fast-food taco place should sell them. I'd buy 'em at twice the price...they were that good.

I loved this taco as well, it was delicious. The reason I heard they took it off the menu was for the backlash they received calling it taco light when it didn't have fewer calories and may have even been higher in fat. (the flour tortilla would certainly absorb more oil than a corn tortilla)

The Taco Light failed because of the name. Alot of people thought it was some kind of "diet taco" so they would of course avoid it. Taco Bell would have success relaunching it with a new name. Perhaps the "Greatest Taco EVER"

I ***LOVED** these things. Very sad day when they removed them from the menu. Hey Taco Bell... WIth the Retro and Throwback fad going on you could make a FORTUNE!! Please bring them back! My local Taco Bell occasionally will deep fry a Mexican Pizza shell and make a taco out of it. EXACTLY like I remember!!!

Everytime I hear the word taco, I remember these and my mouth waters. Yes, bring them back TacoBell! Call them "TACO LITE" and put them in a paper holder so they don't break. Or make them out of white corn and call them "Taco White". I would honestly visit the store 20x as often.

I wish someone could tell me how to make the shells. I love the light crispy shells they would melt in your mouth.

god, I can remember that day, driving up to the drive thru menu in college, viciously hungover, looking for my taco light fix... only to search and search. I felt like I was in a nightmare. I'm pretty sure they were on the menu for YEARS. There was nothing as good as those tacos. Bring them back!

Bring back the Taco Light! Call it something else if you felt the name lost sales but that shell made that taco! Taco Bell should at least sell the taco light taco shells in the stores so we can make our own with it! :-)

BRING BACK THE TACO LIGHT: Every time I go to TB- which is not often because they have really changed and the Dorito taco shell is the worst/saltiest shell I have ever had. Now I hear they are going to add new flavors. Anyway, when I go, I ALWAYS ask if they are going to bring back the taco light-half the employees have no idea what I am talking about and the others just ask me if I want to order from the light menu.. TB you have no clue!!!

Here in Texas there is a fast food chain called Taco Casa. Taco Casa must have purchased the rights to the old Taco Bell menu. They have all the old menu items I used to get as a kid in the 70s and 80s, including the Taco Lite. If Taco Casa did purchase the rights to the old Taco Bell menu, then Taco Bell may not be able to bring back the Taco Light. You'll just have to come to Texas to get it. It's still just as good as it was back then, and the old Taco Bell menu lives on at Taco Casa.

Taco Lights were my absolute favorite. I don't even go to Taco Bell anymore because they don't serve them now. I have searched everywhere for a recipe for those shells and cannot find. PLEEEEEZ TACO BELL!!! Bring them back!!!

Ron's comment is on the money. I loved them too, but half of them would break before ever making it into a wrapper. I'm sure the cost-loss was what eventually drove them off the menu. You know portion control, they lost half of these shells a day from breakage, but they were really good!

If u are ever in Texas Taco Casa has a taco exactly like the taco light in fact its called the taco lite!! Try it, u will be amazed!

My husband and I LOVED the taco lights from Taco Bell in that foil wrapper. the shell would always break but it didn't matter..because it tasted so good...we have wished for years that they would bring those back....Please Taco Bell..bring them back!

For those talking about Taco Casa, I am sure it is not the Taco Bell recipe. All they are doing is frying a flour tortilla instead of corn. Like the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell. Problem is, the tortilla they use now is nowhere near as good as it was back then. Like look at the Mexican Pizza. That shell is nothing like it was when it was called Pizzaz Pizza. I think then they friend them on site, now I assume it is delivered.

The taco was the best ever. The flaky shell was amazing! I cannot believe they have never brought it back let alone got rid of it in the first place!

Back in the early 80’s we had only 1 Taco Bell in Miami-Dade county and we would drive from Homestead to North Miami to get our Taco Lites! That flour white shell was the key to that great tasting taco! It was the first taco I ever had from Taco Bell. And the extra long size made it even better!
