These were the finest hour for Taco Bell -- not saying much, I understand. The ironic part is that they were among the most calorie-dense items there! A fried flour tortilla shell, meat, cheese, sour cream...tasty, but "light" is a complete lie!

I loved these too!! I used to eat them all the time!

they need to bring them back!! It was the best taco they have ever had on the menu....even with the low fat cheese and sour cream! The real beauty of this taco was the sheell...so flaky and crispy, it was taco heaven! I would join a lobby to bring these back to the menu!

I can not agree more! They were absolutly the best menu item taco bell has ever introduced! I too would rally along otehers for the fight for the taco light. I still crave them, along with the powdery soft flour tortillas they used to use for their burritos. Ummmmm

They did NOT have low fat anything. They were called Taco Light due to the light flaky shell. The name was the reason they failed. Taco Bells corporate dumba$$es were too stupid to realize alot of people did not order them because they thought they were a diet low calorie taco. Had they simply changed the name to I dunno the "Taco Bueno" or something they would still be around. Also the flaky shell is still around, it is the Taco salad bowl.

I'd give anything for them to bring back the best taco ever!! I soooo miss the Taco Light!!

They discontinued because they were about to launch A "lite" menu and This would have confused to many people The lite menu did not last long It was awful

This been on my mind for years every time I pass a Taco Bell taco light come to mind just don't understand why you won't bring that bck to the restaurant.

I remember this taco i remember getting it many years ago, did they really stop making these back in the 80's ? I remember back then they had 2 kinds of tacos this one and the hard corn shelled tacos and maybe the soft shells at the same time anyway this one with the flour shells was my favorite. I agree they should bring these flour tacos back yummy and everybody described these tacos pretty good except for 1 thing the thing they used to put in every one of their tacos and that is black olives. I have not even seen olives put in taco salads anymore witch is something that also used to be in a taco salad why did they stop offering olives in their products? .

I was growing up in Brooklyn when this came out and we had no Taco Bell so I really don't remember it. However, my ex-wife would talk about Taco Lite all the time and I must admit the youtube commercial does make it look quite delicious!

The old taco Bell menu was the best 1985- 1988. Taco light, taco Bell grande, bell beefer..enchirito and the beefy tostada.. They currently have a bean tostada so I just add meat and I got my beefy tostada!
