Loved them... I especially remember the circular "window" on the bag where you could see in. I loved those bags!

I miss the original cheese ones, they were awesome. I remember in the 90s they came out with the salsa and cream cheese ones and another flavor. They were so good. I do like the plain ones for dipping, but I crave the original cheese ones so much!!

No one believes me that Tostitos nacho cheese chips ever existed, and in fact, that they were better than Doritos!

I e-mailed Frito-Lay a few months back and asked them to bring back that flavor. They have experimented with all the WEIRD Dorito's flavors (cheeseburger? seriously?), but nothing matched the flavor of Nacho Cheese Tostito's

Another vote for the cheese flavored Tostitos. They ruled. You have to wonder - does FritoLay ever monitor sites like this and "RoadFood?" Spare us the crazy flavors of Doritos they're coming up with now, and bring back nacho cheese Tostitos and original taco flavored Doritos!

In the early 1980s, these use to come in single serve packages that were 35 cents. They were round instead of triangular like Dorito's. They came in a white bag with an Aztec design, and clear window. My favorite was the cheese flavor, which was milder than Dorito's Nacho Cheese.

They need to bring these back. They were amazingly good. Different than Doritos. They both had their place.

The cheese flavored Tostitos were awesome crispy and since everything is being "throwback" (Pepsi, Mountain Dew), Frito Lay should "throwback" to cheese Tostitos Rounds. I've recently had Taco flavored Doritos, you can find them every now and then.

Me and my 4 siblings talk about these (nacho cheese tostitos) all of the time. We all echo the same sentiment of not understanding why they stopped making them. Head and shoulders the best chips ever IMO. Glad to see there are others out there that remember and would love to see them make a return

I found a similar taste in generic form. I live in Keller TX and found them at Albertsons. They are called Julio's Tortilla Chips. They are not round, but immediately reminded me of the original Tostitos. They are made in Del Rio TX - 877-616-2240

Does any one else think that the Yellow corn round tostitos tasted so much different and better in the early 80's then the yellow corn rounds they make today?? the bag was yellow and had the clearview in the middle with the aztec design. i hope they will bring back the original taste.

I have a theory that years ago Doritos paid Frito Lay to take them off the shelves and never speak of them again. It was the only direct competition and when left with the only one nacho cheese option in Doritos what choice do we have?

Loved cheese Tostitos! They were definitely better than Doritos. However, the same company made both products, so it doesn't make sense that they stopped selling them because of Doritos. Either product would make them money, so why not give consumers a CHOICE?

I agree with most of the people on here as well as the people I talk to on a regular bases and people I've just met, chit/chat. The consensus is as follows: We enjoyed the cheese Tostitos and would greatly appreciate if you could bring those back. Yes, they were much, much better than any of the Doritos brands. They were perfect! Please consider doing a throwback celebration to the 80’s and make them for a year. Your sales would be astronomical. We talk about them all the time because we LOVE them.

HELL YEAH!!!! I found this site while reminiscing about one of my all time favorite snack foods, the Nacho Cheese Tostitos!!! They were SOOOOOO much better than Nacho Cheese Doritos, and they really need to bring them back. Hell, they made a Mountain Dew flavored Dorito, cant they just give us back our Nacho Cheese Tostitos (original recipe please, I don't care if it costs more, or if the ingredients offend someone, they were AWESOME!!!)? The weirdest thing ws that the wikipedia page for Tostidos doesn't even mention the Nacho Cheese flavor, which is sad. It's almost as if they don't want people to know about them. On a positive note, I've been able to find one of my old favorites, Taco flavored Doritos, and have been eating WAAAYYY too many of them lol! Doritos do not hold a candle to salsa and cream cheese. Suck it up big D and bring back the good stuff. The only way i can eat Doritos anymore is if they're smothered by something. I would eat Tostitos salsa and cream cheese by the bag.

I remember the nacho cheese Tostitos. The original commercials would play up the fact that they were made from "stone-ground" corn (presumably Doritos weren't). That must have given them the better flavor over Doritos. Better crunch too. I especially liked that they were round chips because sometimes the pointy ends of Doritos' triangles would poke or cut the roof of my mouth. As to the packaging, I have loathed these opaque foilized bags ever since they started using them. Politicians talk about the need for transparency, it's no different with product packages. The little clear windows gave you a representative view of what you were about to buy, so you could feel assured it looked fresh and that the correct product was packed in the bag. Before I go I just wanted to mention something else from that era that disappeared as well. Why did they stop making the bacon and sour cream Cheetos? They were really good too.

Oh heck YES!! These rocked compared to Doritos and for some odd reason, you didn't haven't the same mess as Doritos left all over your fingers while eating them! This all came rushing back, I lost a dear friend way to young at only 45 years old, and one of the first things that came to mind was her love for Nacho Cheese Tostitos and Orange Crush that she would love about coming to my house. she had sort of rough time growing up, and didn't have things like this often at all, and I'll respect her and her Mom, and just leave at that. But I remember all of great memories we had making cookies and watching HBO when cable first was new, and HBO only had REAL movies like those that were in the Theaters only, and weren't the old ones either! We were dear friends from the time she moved into the neighborhood during Jr. High all through High School. I sort of get it, but not really... I was sort of her only best friend. She was very beautiful and tall, actually Modeled after her Dad paid for her Modeling school. She mostly did Teen types of magazines and catalogs for sears and JC Penny and a brand name Jean Co. (Gloria Vanderbilt) at a one time thing in High School, that money mostly went to add to her portfolio and to help her Mom with bills and her clothes ect... We lost touch when I was about 30, when I called one day and the phone was disconnected with no information at all. I am trying my best to think of all of the great memories we had. But am so, so sad!! I cried myself to sleep last night, she is just as beautiful as she always was. She had major lung issues due to her very heavy smoking since the age of only 13, when her Mom would even give her 2 packs per day! Those "More" Menthol's that were long and skinny in the brown paper all over. In the dark green pack. But there was no smoking at my house where she loved to spend a lot of time. My family sort of took her in and fed her, showed we all cared ect. I had talked to my Mon in confidence about the situation. She had a lot of empathy and even had a friend of mine move in when she turned 18 on her Birthday, due to her being abused sexually in her own home. The sad part is my dear old friend that had passed, did not have anything to do with ANYONE in High School at all! They didn't take the time to understand her like I had done, and YES! She was sure an original, very witty and a free spirit in more ways than just a few. But was a friend that cared and loved deeply for her true friends and family, probably more than herself sadly. But a friend that would stick by you no matter the circumstances, and both learn and share with so many things... She even showed me what type of make up to use as well as the right way to apply it correctly, while we were always munching on a bag of Tostitos and at that time (as it's still so vivid)I only had my 8 pack of the returnable bottles of Pepsi by then, that I became addicted to as well. They even had it at school! Heck, we even had a smoking area, could leave the campus by car during open hours and lunch to go to a fast food place or a park when it was nice out. I still can't believe we had that much freedom then. Then during my Sr. Year in the beginning, in October, I turned 18 and was on the emancipated list. I was JUST Grand Fathered into the 18 year old drinking age by only 13 days! And there were very few of us that had been, and that's when I met my Son's Father... But I didn't get pregnant until I was 20 years old. When I lost my virginity which I held onto like I had promised my Dad, until I knew it was the right time. But every single time through the 80's until they stopped making them :P . Which I do not understand why that was? Because even at school those were first to go in the vending machine before anything else! They should at least do a come back trial for them... That way, I could leave some flowers in a Tostitos bag when I go visit her. RIP my dear friend... So glad you found that happiness you deserved so much before we lost you to such a tragic mistake. I hope you heard my prayer or Jesus told you what I thought you needed to know. Love you always!

they had Nacho Cheese Tostados, they were in competition with Doritos so company that owned Doritos bought Tostados & did away with the Nacho Cheese Flavor, I miss them along with Calvin or California Coolers & LaChoy Mini Eggrolls

If you go back a little further, back into the 70s they had Nacho Cheeze Mini Tacos Tostitos. Please bring those back. Tasted like the tortilla rounds.

My grandma used to buy these for us to have with our sandwiches at lunch in the summer. We would come over twice a week for the afternoon. I remember "Days of our Lives" coming on in the living room while we were eating. These chips were so good and should be brought back.

Salsa and Cream Cheese Tostitos are my fave ever. I craved them so much while I was pregnant with my oldest daughter. Then when I got pregnant the second time they had been discontinued where I lived... We were in Memphis and I saw them at the store and freaked out and freaked and brought home like 10 bags. I miss them so much! lol

Nacho Cheese Tostitos and Mt. Dew got me through college. They were my favorite chip snack. I'm sure I went through one large bag a week. Compared to Doritos, they were lighter and crispier - not as hard and no sharp pieces. A Tostitos fragment would never stab you between your teeth and gums. I would never choose Doritos over Nacho Cheese Tostitos. While I like the flavor of Nacho Cheese Doritos, they are too hard to eat so I rarely buy them.

Yes, these were delicious! I remember both white and yellow bags. Even though I couldn't have been no more than 4 years old, I remember the taste of cheese Tostitos, and how I preferred them over the plain ones. Frito Lay/Dortitos are a bunch of haters! A company like Utz or Granny Goose should bring them back to life.

It's no coincidence they disappeared when Frito-Lay bought Tostitos. They eliminated the competition under the guise of Tostitos being their unflavored tortilla chips. It was a crime against humanity. I thought monopolies were illegal.

They have the round Tostito chips in flavors like Salsa Verde and a spicy salsa so I'm hoping they will bring back the original nacho cheese back. They always seemed lighter and crisper than Doritos to me.And didn't leave as much "dust" on your fingers either! Nacho Cheese Tostitos were great. They were better than Doritos Nacho Cheese. I was SO mad when Frito Lay bought Tostitos and killed that flavor, which I'm sure was the main reason they made the acquisition. What gets me is that they could've continued to produce both for people who preferred one over the other. I eat Doritos now, because I do like them. But sometimes when I see Doritos and Tostitos on the chip aisle, it brings back the feelings of regret and resentment towards Frito Lay!
